Sandoval lost like 40 lbs before last season. If Miguel lost like 20 lbs i think he would be able to do something similar and have more range because he is taller. I'm excited to see the death row of Cabrera, Fielder, and V-Mart
He was still a big body last year, but I agree Cabrera will have to lose weight if he wants to be atleast average defensively at the spot..
Yeah Im just saying he slimmed down and his defense improved greatly

Inge super-subs on the bench and comes in late to play 3rd when the Tigers are up by 2 runs or more....so whats the problem @ 3B again?

Please don't say Super-sub anymore regarding Inge. He's a sub, nothing super about it.

he's a sub-super-sub

Any decision that keeps inge out of tge lineup is a good one imo. Not to mention cabby wont need to play 3B this year. He'll rotate at 1B and dh this year with fielder. he has until next year to maje these changes you guys feel are necesarry. 20 lbs in like 15 months can be done on a twinkie diet (assumming hostess didnt go out of business).

Super-sub generally refers to a known sub-par player offensively, but whose only real value is that he can "allegedly" and at least "adequately" play multiple positions on the field, on defense late in games, ala '07's Neifi Perez, for the Tigers..lol.

yeah, but we've already got don kelly, we dont need an older crappier version of him still on the team.

Inge's remaining final? (lol..yikes!!) season MM$ contract is what keeps him on the roster, like him or not...for now and perhaps the first half of next season, at least. (absent an unlikely trade OR possibly his outright release)

Both Young AND Boesch were injured last year, Delmon and Brennan both during the postseason...Tigers are STILL very thin in the OF. so IF one or the other gets hurt again only Raburn, Kelly or Dirks or far less likely Inge/Thomas will/may be available (at this point, anyway)

People get let go all the time that's making money. If he's not helping the team, release him. That's my motto.

i vote outright release (and one for delmon too)

Ditto.

No need for Inge on the team now, Don Kelly is a perfect replacement for late inning defensive strategies at 3B.

Sad thing is watch Delmon have a ton of RBI's again and people will think he's good because Cabrera and Fielder will be on base in front of him all the time.

Send 'em both packing frees up roster spots for Danny Worth and Andy Dirks, 2 more late inning Defensive replacements, who earn peanuts.

Miguel is going to end up in left field in 2013. Young will be gone by then.. I don't see him losing enough to play third. Just shade Jackson and make hi get all the balls in the gap...LOL

BTW the world is ending this year so Mike I. wanted Detroit to go out on top in 2012....

The one thing I worry about moving him to 3rd or OF is injury. I assume the chances go up quite a bit over first. I say give him 75 @ DH and 75 at 3B and LF.

Arguably the best hitter in the American League will not be replaced in games for a defensive upgrade - UNLESS it's the 9th inning and the Tigers have a commanding lead.

Exactly. Sorry Miguel but we're up by one and we have Don kelly, lol.

Thanks Captain Obvious.

Its not obvious to the bozo's who think he's being replaced by Inge in the 9th inning.
