Miguel Cabrera confirms move to 3rd base in 2012

I can say this without a doubt after seeing Miggy last week in Orlando everyone will be surprised in the shape he has gotten in this offseason.

Thanks Captain Obvious.

Its not obvious to the bozo's who think he's being replaced by Inge in the 9th inning.[/quote:r5vol4rf]

He probably will.

He won't be taken out though, he'd switch to DH.

Yeah, losing Inge is addition by subtraction.

Well, at least we know for sure he won't be on the Tigers after this year.

I am looking at some pictures that a friend took on a visit that Miggy, Jackson, Santiago and Oliver all took to a hospital. Miggy does look like he has lost a little bit of weight but he is no doubt still a very big boy. I would imagine he will continue working hard if he truly wants to succeed with the swap to 3B.

Miguel >>Crack... ' There is a double in the gap".
Prince >> Crack " Man that ball is gone".

"that is a two run homer for the Tiger's here in the 7th inning that will make the score Detroit 8 and the White Sox's 2... Heck if it wasn't for that throw Prince could not handle in the third from Miguel Fister would be working on a shutout".

Man i am to giddy!!!!

A position player can't be replaced and then move to the DH.

I'm not saying he'd be replaced.

The DH would be replaced with Inge or Kelly, and then Cabrera would swap positions with them.

Is that not allowed?

I don't think you can do that either.

Gotcha, really doesn't make sense to me that you can switch a player from 3B to LF but not 3B to DH.

Oh well, I guess there won't be any defensive replacements, because Cabrera's not coming out of any games.

I bet he will, maybe not 1-2 run games, but a comfortable 4+ run lead with Papa on the hill, he'll get a rest.

It does make sense, because the DH replaces only the pitcher in the batting order. You can only replace the DH with someone not in the lineup.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I do believe you could DH for any position, not just the pitcher. I can't say that I've ever seen it done, but I think it's okay by the rules.

Nope...only the pitcher. The only flexibility is that they don't have to use the DH...they can let the pitcher hit.

You can pull the DH, but then you have to start with the double switches and stuff or let the pitcher hit.

Right..but he was talking about pulling the DH and taking Miggy who wold be playing 3B and insert him in the DH spot. You can't do that.
