MSU Football recruiting

Donnie Corley is going to announce July 5th at the Opening. Word is that Lavert Hill is following him to MSU. Hill has not been returning calls from Penn State coaches and removed all Penn State pics from his twitter feed.

Psu just got sanduskyed. Why would he opt for psu to begin with?? Not getting my hopes up for hayes but that would be bonus. If we got corley and hill how many more do you think we wil take, 4-5?

Since the kicker took a Gray shirt we are at 19, I think we take 22-24. So 3-5. Corley, Hill, a TE, and maybe another DE/OLB, and maybe OL.

Kareem picked Bama

Too bad we didn't have room for him. Hate seeing a kid with his talent leave the state.

Said he appreciated Coach D's honesty.

-Michigan State eventually fell off the radar after more defensive lineman and ends had committed, creating a "numbers problem" for Kareem if he were to re-commit to the Spartans. After talking with coach Mark Dantonio, Kareem realized that going with the Spartans would not be the best road.

"It was disappointing to hear but it was good that he was telling me the truth with what was going to happen," Kareem said about Dantonio and not ending up a Spartan. "Not just telling me that there's going to be an opportunity for you to play when there's definitely not."

He should have picked Michigan. Hes out of the picture for us. Hes 2nd string first 2 years at bama and sbee mentioned the competition factor already.harbaughs a better coach than saban. Sabans a cock if we didnt pick up king and robertson id be frustrated. Harbaugh is silently making it happen

Dang, Coghlin actually made a 57 yarder at the MSU camp. He can also kick off with either leg. Not a lot of high school juniors making 57 yarders, heck, there are some NFL kickers who can't make a 57 yard FG in practice. Think we got a good one.

And these kicks weren't the types you see in some high light tapes where there is a clear field and the kicker gets to take a couple extra steps while taking his time. The MSU coaches were trying to block it by holding empty trash cans above their heads 7 yards in front of the kicker. And this was into regulation goal posts. I've seen some high lights from kicking camps where the kickers are basically lining up for what amounts to a kickoff and kicking through uprights that are like 1.5 times the regulation, then claim they made a 66 yard FG. The only way it's a FG is if you made it under game conditions.

as much of a lock as Corley is supposed to be he just attended an OSU football camp, said he had a great visit at Tennessee. Hes probably had 25 school visits including 10 to MSU. I think it would be stressfull for that many visits. Being tugged one way or the other. im a bit nervous acutally.

Fwiw Corley was wearing a msu visor for his workout at the opening this weekend. Also Blackwell tweeted "let's make it official "

Supposed to announce tomorrow. Hes visited so many schools I have been nervous and his last vist was Tenn which he said "he was really impressed". Im pretty sure hes MSU but Id like to finally hear it.

Guys, he's never came out and said he was announcing for sure this week. He just said he might. Personally I think he will, but don't read too much into it if he doesn't.

Also, he and Messiah are on the same team for the event.

last i read is that he's still debating on if he's going to announce or not, it sounds like he just wants the process to be over.

After 25+ school visits including MSU at least 10 times I dont blame him.

If this Corley kid can't decide whether he wants to announce or not, it sounds like he wants to drag it out - if he wanted it to be over with, he'd announce. He's a kid and he's had his ego pumped for a couple years with all the attention he's getting - tough to not let that go to your head. Maybe he enjoys the attention and wants to drag it out or maybe he's still undecided. What's the likelihood he hasn't made up his mind and what are the oddsmakers or "crystal ball" idiots saying are the chances he doesn't choose MSU?

OT - last night on local cable TV station I watched a replay of St. Peter's Prep play Paramus Catholic. That Wimbush kid that's going to ND was amazing, especially w/ his feet. We offered him but I don't know if ever really considered us or not. Paramus Catholic is a powerhouse in one of the best states for high school football in the country (little known secret bc we don't have a major college program other than Rutgers, but I assume the people who follow recruiting know NJ produces shitloads of talent) and he just did whatever he wanted.

Corley is announcing friday, good sign for MSU

Hill and corley should give us a top 10 class. With the likes of Dantonio he can stretch that kind of talent like its a top 5.

Where are you guys getting the Hill info?

He still says he's 100% committed to PSU.

Corley pushed it back, he is not going to announce this week, not great for us but i've read that MD told him to take his time and make sure he was 100%.

he says he's 100% committed until he flips and then he'll be 0% committed. the speculation has always been that we land Hill if we get Corley, this isn't just from fans but recruiting insiders and experts. Hill has always liked MSU and committed to PSU before he had an offer from us, he's best friends with Corley and a lot of people assume he'd follow him to MSU. Hill has been to MSU a number of times to visit since committing to PSU, recently showing up at a 1 day camp though he didn't participate. I don't think Franklin feels great about his chances with him given the fact that a committed player is visiting MSU about once a month.
