Appling back in his shell, can't win without him being a threat

There'd be a few players I'd put it on before Appling. He did a good job getting the ball up to people in position to score. Those guys struggled with missed shots and turnovers. I thought Appling played a decent game.

Outside of maybe 5 minutes today, Harris was a complete spectator on offense. Valentine couldn't stay on the floor and made a HORRIBLE decision trying to take Craft one on one late. Payne scored 23 today, but made a lot of dumb turnovers and took a bad contested 3 that he could have just pump faked and drove uncontested for a dunk with a minute to go.

I feel we're close. They really looked good for a lot of this game. At this point, I think Izzo just needs to let the dogs loose and run, run, run. Our half court offense is beyond bad, but we looked pretty good running today.

In the end this game won't matter much and I suppose it was good for the team as far as hardening them again for postseason play. It sure would have been a nice one to get, though.

Well, on to the BTT. Normally I don't care too much about what happens there, but the difference between losing the first one and maybe taking the whole thing could be several seed lines. We'll be the #3 seed and I think the 6-11 matchup would be Iowa-Northwestern. Who knows there the way Iowa seems to be fading, but I guess probably Iowa. Then perhaps a chance to beat UW and UM again.

I'm just hoping we don't get bounced early in the btt. I usually overreact to losses, losing one the road to a ncaa tournament team isn't the end of the world. I'm just disappointed we're in this position

Conference tourneys are going to be interesting this year for seeding with so many teams bunched up. I could see us falling to a 5 (or maybe even a 6) if we lose our first game, maybe squeeze in as a 2, at worst a 3, if we win the BTT with probably a 4 being the most likely if we win a game or 2.

They really blew that game. Why was Payne taking a contested 3 so early in the clock anyway? Down 1 with 28 seconds left (26 on the shot clock) on the road - it makes no sense. And I know it's Kraft at home, late in the game but how does he not get called for a foul on the last shot - he literally had a fistful of Harris' jersey as he's pulling up to take the last shot. Not taking anything away from him - he's a warrior but I'm so sick of watching that guy get away with murder.
