MSU @ Purdue

Terrible finish.

1. Why not foul?
2. He clearly traveled.
3. With 2 TO's and 10 seconds left in regulation and an off balance fade away from 19 ft is the best shot we can get??

Lots of things to point out but the and one on Goins was criminal. Clear offensive foul, huge swing. 3 for them and cost is two free throws.

I thought that was a foul. Don't be a dumbass and put yourself in that position.

Not like we were going to win the big ten, but running the table would have been nice. I also don't like Matt Painter.

wow. what a disappointment. That last foul on Valentine was absurd - that was obviously a moving screen.

Tough crew tonight. Calls seemed to change throughout the game.

We had our chances though and just shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly.

FTs are not awarded for offensive fouls in college even in the bonus.

Purdue looked quicker than us at the end. We looked gassed.

Purdue deserves credit for a lot of that with their pressure but I think a big part of it was all the energy spent fighting our way out of the 16 point hole.

A lot of weird if not outright bad crap happened or went against us toward the end but that game really came down to the dog shit performance in the first half.

End of the second half we had our chances to out it away and didn't. Great game. Purdue deserved a win, but just a terrible call to make there.

Forbes has scored 28 points total in our 5 losses

That game reminded me of the Wisconsin game, bigger deficit to claw out of but playing from behind similarly much of the game only to catch and go past them and seem to take control, then let it get away in the last minute or two.

Disappointing not to get that one, but as was said previously winning the Big Ten at this point was a long shot with the wins Iowa already has behind them. Running the table from here on out, especially if they beat Indiana next at home, looks like a good possibility. If they did and won the BTT a #1 seed is still possible especially the way teams have been getting knocked off this year, but a #2 or 3 still looks like a good bet.

that missed dunk by Valentine in overtime hurt.

Forbes was nowhere to be seen. Harris struggled again...but what's new? I've been defending him all season but he's either been in a slump all season or just isn't that good. He's so athletic though, and shows flashes of brilliance, but makes crucial turnovers every game it seems like.

I don't watch a lot of college basketball but I did watch most of that game. It was a pretty entertaining game.

Man, watching the replay of that last play, first of all Hammons clearly travels and then he sets a moving screen into Valentine, stuck his knee right into him and threw him into Davis. I'd prefer the refs let both calls go and let the players decide the game.

When you mount a big comeback it takes a lot of energy, team showed me a lot of heart, but just didn't have enough to finish it.

That far from the basket, Valentine should never had tried to go over the pick. The right play was to cleanly go under the pick and pic him back up on the other side. Dumb move on him to put himself in that spot.

Thought it was double bonus

even in the double bonus, if it's an offensive foul, there are no free throws awarded. If it was an over-the-back going for an offensive rebound or possibly a moving screen (not sure in that instance) then the other player would get foul shots but if it's a charge or a hook move with the ball, the other teams gets the ball but no foul shots.

Beating IU and winning the BTT is a pretty tall ask considering our performances against Iowa and Purdue. Barring a miracle, third place is probably the best regular season finish we could achieve. But we have a decent shot at that - looking at everyone's remaining schedules ours seems to be the most favorable. Take care of business and we very well could finish ahead of uofm, purdue and wisco. IU has a big edge w/ just 2 losses but they also have the toughest home stretch of anyone.
