MSU Week

This state fucking sucks, too(they dont use salt). We got 5 inches 2 days before Halloween. I was super pissed. The kids were troopers, though. It heated up to a balmy 26 after being in the single digits for 3 days.

We had 4" in the yard yesterday morning at 17-degrees. Today snow is all melted and its sunny and 60.

as far as I can remember, the only times I went north of Lansing, MI in the winter were to go skiing.

I was going to reply that in terms of a "winter mecca" there are quite a few smaller ski resorts "Up North" along with snowmobiling (or snow machining if you're Palin), X-Country skiing, sledding, snowball fighting ....hockey (outdoors) and ice fishing..?

I don't snowmobile (not a redneck).

All redneck "sports" involve motors. it's not a wealth/income thing either: the richer the redneck, the bigger the motor.

The sub-desert heat of the San Fernando Valley summer is finally, thankfully, mercifully giving way to autumn and the coming winter.

Highs in the 70s to low 80s this week, possibly getting into the 60s mid week next week.

Shud uuuup!

Though normally winters here are MUCH better than MI, we're getting the arctic blast right now. Average highs for January are in the 50's. High today 33, low tonight 19. After 26 years down here I'm wussified.

sounds like Lewerke might've suffered a concussion right before he threw the pick 6, but his head coach Brady Hoke left him in (link)

Whenever you hear someone "got their bell rung" replace the phrase with "suffered serious and possibly permanent brain damage"

In February 2014, I went back to Michigan to bury the wife of my cousin. I had been the best man at his wedding.

It was cold as fuck-record cold and snow, actually-but for whatever reason I didn?t feel it.

I went for a walk outside, just wearing my suit coat, and when I came back in I was actually hot. I was sweating.

Sorry for that loss. Grief is a powerful emotion.
