NCAA Tourney Draw

My point is that while every SEC fan goes crazy for their conference come bowl season, I don?t cheerlead for the Big Ten. I couldn?t careless if having Michigan OSU Wisconsin etc have good showings on the national stage leads to more national respect for the conference.

do you root for the Big 10 in the Big 10 ACC challenge?

It's not about the conference to me either and I hope state loses in round one. The tournament is about playing with momentum and I believe the layoff will kill that for the teams representing the big ten, overall.

perhaps I will be wrong.

Unfortunately I agree with you. I?ve seen too many times in sports where long layoffs kill teams and their momentum heading into playoff type scenarios. Which sucks especially for Michigan fans since the team was white hot the past few weeks. As much as I hate to admit, from first glance a strong part of me is leaning to pick Michigan all the way to the title game, but that layoff has me second guessing that.

Overall yes, I have no reason to hate teams like Minnesota, Iowa, Maryland, etc. Of the other 13 teams in conference I root for 9 of them in nonconference hoops, probably 8/9 of them in football. Depends on my level of dislike for Nebraska football at a given point in time.

I do find it semi-funny/cheer for the underdog when the ones I don?t mind get upset though (I.e. Iowa losing to North Dakota St in football a few years back).

I don't think it will hurt MSU - we didn't have any momentum to preserve. It can only help us or have no affect. I'd like to see uofm make it to the final but I'm not putting $ on it and not because of the layoff. I have a feeling they'll run into a more talented team that's not coached by Izzo.

I agree - I'm totally fine w/ and actually have a good chuckle when a team like PSU loses to a team like Temple but I want them to beat their power 5 opponents. I didn't like when uofm lost to app st, but I know they're by far the better team and it was just a fluke. It's different when bama, fsu, or whoever consistently beat B1G teams.

The layoff shouldn't be a problem against Montana but could be against Houston, should Houston advance, them having played just yesterday in a conference championship game.

If our guys get past Houston, they should be as much back in rhythm as anybody going forward from there.

All 4 big ten teams are facing this lay off. Win and it is no big deal. Lose and it is all everyone will talk about. All four teams will be favored in all 8 games if they are lucky enough to advance to them.

One good thing about Houston is how much they rely on their PG. He's really solid, but Zavier is a really great defender. I like when our best defender checks the other team's best player.

Michigan and State both draw #14 seeds and Purdue draws a #15. The Buckeyes draw a #12.

Layoff or no, these are four teams that the four B1G teams really shouldn't have much of a problem with.

I will say the Gray kid for Houston with the man bun is an absolute tool. He was shushing the crowd after they beat Wichita State. Dude you?re playing in front of 500 people at some mediocre conference tournament, pump the brakes.

I just assume everyone with a man bun is a tool.

And the Spartans there too.

I sure hope our guys can rekindle their momentum after the layoff.

Beating the Spartans and Purdue back to back is winning as good as it gets - two of the very best in the country.

Except for maybe beating Duke and North Carolina.

Those are two wins I would value more.

Not by much, but still, a little more.

Davis, jr popped 5 3s in a row to start the game against Cincy. Scored no more points after that, but thats the dude that scares me the most.

Good shooter, but that's all he does. 73% of his attempts this season are from three. Rahk can take that away.
