NCAA Tourney Games Thread

WOW. Michigan's bracket is WIDE open. They could potentially play FSU if they get by A and M?? Hell yeah.

Looking at the box score of the Syracuse verses msu game please explain how did msu lose ? I guess shooting two may three pointers at a bad percentage and not putting back the offensive rebounds. When I am watching high school games both girls and boys I never understood why more coaches do not use a 2/3 zone . I feel it is easy to teach and can really be effective.

Syracuse was out rebounded 51-30 which included 29 freaking offensive rebounds .
Msu has 11 assists to Syracuses 3 assists.
Syracuse was 1 for 8 from three
Msu was 8 for 37
Syracuse was 24 for 31 shooting free throws.
Msu was 11 for 16 shooting free throws.
Syracuse did out block msu 6-2
Steals Syracuse lead 5-4.

The simple explanation is that MSU is a very talented team full of individuals that struggle as a team. They didnt play well all year against teams with great defenses where they had to pass the ball around as a unit. They were just kind of jacking up every shot from 3 and that plays right into Cuse's hands.

Jim Boeheim was on the Dan Patrick radio show . He was a actually pretty funny. I thought I was suppose to hate him .

I rather play NC. A&M can be tough.

No thanks. UNC is a 2 seed for a reason. I'll take the less talented team all day, any day.

A and M has some good players, but they can't shoot. UNC has already proven (even if early in the year), they can dominate Michigan. Water will tend to find its level. Michigan's been playing relatively poorly, A and M has been playing way above their head.

The interviews I've seen with him were after losses, and he was always a lot more salty.

I think A&M has been playing better than UNC lately though. kicking ass in November & December doesn't matter in March.

just ask MSU!

They had a pretty average season. Some nice wins, some bad losses. It's basically what you'd expect of your standard 7 seed. I would always just favor rolling the dice against a team with less talent.

Texas A&M is apparently another great defensive team... since we're not great offensively, that goes against our strengths. We can stifle them on defense, but they'll do the same to us.

on the other hand... we've just been shooting below our averages. those should average out in our favor at some point. i hope.

Texas A&M is still a concern for sure. They looked awesome against UNC. We have to hope we play a little better, and that they play a little worse.

Also not sure what's going on with Livers. He's really disappeared lately. He hasn't been the same since he had the ankle issue it seems. Scoreless in both games thus far. Wonder if we might see Robinson starting again?

You expressed both my concern and my hope

coming off the bench seems to be working well. why change that?

because Livers has literally provided nothing and maybe its a factor into why we have struggled.

I would be OK with Duncan starting over Livers.

My biggest gripe, especially against Houston, was the removal of Teske. The dude literally provided great play every second he was on the court. Is it possible to have a 2 big lineup with him and Wagner?

great idea. we have over 72 hours until our next game. let's radically change our offense and see how it goes.
