Next GM and Head Coach

well, it looks like the GM understands that this team is terrible and he needs to build it from scratch. Good first move.

Agree, Lions weren't winning with him. Time to build from the ground up. If there is a QB with taking high then do it, if not grab a guy in later round or next year.

Probably the 2nd worst team in the league with him. Might be the worst without him. Who cares...moving down 1 spot is worth the risk of starting over so you can move up in the future.

I just read that ownership told both the incoming GM and HC that Stafford would be traded this off-season. Why hire a GM if ownership is making personnel decisions? Fuck the Fords. They have ruined this franchise for too many years.

I'm not happy with trading Stafford. He has been the heart and soul of this franchise over the last decade. The package better be great. If we get a 2nd and some scrubs, I'm done with the Lions.

well, if he's the heart and soul of the Lions, that doesn't reflect well on him. The Lions suck.

Also, it may not be on the Fords. Matt could have been the one that said he wanted out and the Fords agreed. The Fords may have just been upfront with the GM that the decision was already made.

Obviously want to trade him before beginning of March when his roster bonus is due.

Lions are in a good position. Number to teams need a QB, and if their asking price isn't met you can keep him for another year.

I still think Colts make the most sense. Package with him and a franchised Golladay, for a 1st, 2nd and 4th. And 2nd next year that jumps to a 1st if Colts makes the AFC championship.

Can you franchise and trade before march?

Can make trades unofficial. March 17 is when trade happens. 2 days before bonus

Also the beauty of this. Is Stafford made this decision

New gm and hc didn’t decide to dump him

Stafford told wood and Sheila he wanted out and they informed Holmes and Campbell during their interviews

Up to Holmes to get best deal possible. These guys know Stafford is elite stud too. Gets great deal

What happened to "he loved the Lions."

He does. Loves them enough to let the, learn the hard way. Like sending s family member to rehab

Lions org can?t get credit for this decision. It?s Staffords decision

Saints don't have the money.

There?s always a way. If you want someone bad enough, you find a way. It?s a billion dollar business. Money moves from the right hand to the left hand.

there are a few ways to look at it.

1) Matt is a loser who quit on his team
2) Matt is sick of an organization that has absolutely no talent on the roster
