NFC Playoff Thread

Yea I know, its stupid of them to do that, i get that there is so much equipment and such that it can't be moved but MNF is garbage compared to sun night. Make the move 2 weeks out and give us a better product, in turn they will get even better ratings.

You'd think ESPN would want to work with the NFL to strive for better MNF ratings.

Here's the remaining MNF schedule,

Nov. 25: SF @ Washington
Dec. 2: NO @ Seattle
Dec. 9: Dallas @ Chicago
Dec. 16: Baltimore @ Detroit
Dec. 23: Atlanta @ SF

The only truly good match-up is NO @ Seattle, the rest is either mediocrity or good vs bad.

I understand that Sunday afternoon to Monday night can create problems with ticket holders and teams, but even scheduling it a month in advance could produce better match-ups and should be enough notice to limit any issues.

Mnf is supposed to give every team a nationwide audience or some such nonsense, they don't care if the game sucks everyone will still watch. Same with crappy Thursdays.

True. For nationally TV games that are actually good, SNF is one to watch. Especially their Flex schedule..

Updated with New Orleans win over Atlanta

No changes to the playoff order

Atlanta now has the worst record in the NFC, for at least the next couple of days

Updated the order for now

Dallas takes the NFC East lead with a win over the Giants (Philadelphia is on a bye). Dallas has the head-to-head advantage.

Arizona takes over the last WC spot, SF plays Monday so this may still change.

I'll update the conference standings and any eliminations later.

Lions win on Thanksgiving they will be in good shape. They could finish 2-2 and beat a 3-1 Pack down the stretch. Bears 3-2 seems possible too.

All 3 teams have a fairly light schedule, each with a "likely win" (though we all saw how that turned out for the Lions). Detroit has the most home games out of the 3, if that factors in at all.

Detroit will have to earn it. And if they win this division it will be because they went 4-2(beating GB) or 5-1 in this division. And that is a big win for the Lions winning division games no matter what they botched against the Steelers or Tampa.

Steelers are 5-2 in their last 7 by the way. And Bucs won 3 in a row with the aid of 6 turnovers. Bucs almost beat Seattle in Seattle. This is the NFL no team makes it easy but the Lions can earn it by finally winning on Thanksgiving and beating the Pack.

If they lose Thursday, its going to be very tough. They would have to finish 4-0 but most likely 3-1 to the Packs 3-1 or 2-2 (which is very iffy with Rodgers back). And Bears still finish 3-2. 2010 Lions finished 4-0 and 2011 3-1 but 2012 0-4 from 0-8).

Thursday is so big for this team.

Lions could have come into the T-Day game with a lot less pressure to win had they won just one of their past two games. Now they have painted themselves into a corner, and will have zero momentum with lowered confidence and face a team that knows that they can climb back into the NFCN lead with just one victory vs the Lions, instead of still being back a half-game.

Although Flynn may not have another record-setting career game vs the Lions, all he may need to do is keep his team in the game, and wait for the Lions O and back 7 on D to implode and self-destruct. The Packers may find it irresistible to start him b/c of his engineering yesterday's comeback tie game vs the Vikes and of course his 6 TD game 2 years ago vs the Lions.

Lions 7-3 in 2011 and lost 2 in a row to fall to 7-5 with everyone giving up on them. Finished 3-1, 3-0 before they clinched and the last game was only for playoff positioning. This team has faced this adversity before under Schwartz.

don't give me this bullshit....did you watch the games? We fucking sucked the last 2 weeks. I don't care who they played or what kind of win streak theyre on.....TB did NOTHING to win that game. they barely had 200 yards of offense and we still lost. Tampas defense sucked but matt Stafford, kris durham and calvin Johnson sucked worse. Tampas offense sucked....but chris Houston , glover quin sucked worse. We lost cause this team blows....the teams we played deserve zero credit.

We should beat GB, they don't have Rodgers. But if we lose it will because we had injuries. Same ole bullshit.

We lose hopefully the Lions start rebuilding the coaching staff Friday morning

We don't have injuries now. I didn't blame the Bucs loss on injuries. Fluke turnovers.
