Better keep negotiating that contract because of you butt hurt over losing Suh Mayhew!
Me, I'll be surprised if the plays 10 games before heading back to the Ravens barring a stupid contract from our FO which you can't rule out. He fits the KVB, Burleson overpay to a tee. I just hope in those 10 games he's the beast he can be.

From Rotoworld:

Lions coach Jim Caldwell said Sunday he's unsure whether DT Haloti Ngata (hamstring) will be ready for Week 1.

Ngata opened camp on the active/PUP list and has yet to practice with his new team. "You don't know," Caldwell said. "I can't predict that. It's just one of those things, we have to kind of see where they are. We're hopeful. We look at how he's been performing and going through just in terms of his rehab, we're optimistic." Ngata was acquired to help replace Ndamukong Suh.

don't worry. LKP says it will be a seamless transition for Ngata. Lions D won't miss a beat!

Honestly, I really like what little I've seen of Reid and Walker so far. That said, Ngata at 100% would give us a nice rotation. No to an extension. I'm convinced this staff has a good handle on evaluating defensive talent. No point in giving him big money before we know he is still effective and healthy.

Agree.

Three weeks to get healthy. Ziggy, Warford and Ngata need to get healthy. Jones and Waddle off PUP is a good thing.

But you wanted a Ngata extension 3 weeks ago.. Brilliant.

Look back.. I was all over his age when we signed him. I am just worried as i think this is our year!! I sure hope to be wrong on this because we need him...

Hasn't played and he's now hurt? Cool..

:hmm:

Unless he's out for the season or it's a career ending injury, he should at least be extended. He's a monster DT and one of the best in the league.
Your knowledge of the game is so twisted. Just when I think you can't outdumb yourself, you do it every time. It's pure magic lol

Lets see - hurt, older, coming from a 3-4 and you say my knowledge is twisted? Lmao.

Who fkn cares if he's older?! He's not ancient lol. He's still productive and Austin/Caldwell have worked with him in the past. Coming from a 3-4 defense worries you?? Lol. Of course it does...you know nothing about football if you don't think he'll be fine. Coming from a 3-4 defense meant more bodies on him. Switching to a 4-3 will put a little less strain on his body IMO. It might actually prolong his career. No guarantees but he'll probably see less doubles than he did while he was in Baltimore. For sure you don't understand this....

He should be extended at least 2 more years after this. 3 year deal all together with incentives.

What is the incentive for the Lions to extend him at this point? Why not wait until the season end. Worst case franchise him.

What's the benefit to Ngata to sign now? Has 8.5 million coming his way this season.

A 3 year extension for Ngata has dead money written all over it. The guy juiced his way back from a torn ligament. I would hope the FO learned a few things about signing players on the tail end of their careers from guys like KVB. He may even play well this year like KVB did. On top of the risk of extending a guy like that you can draft quality DTs with a pretty good hit percentage. Draft Donald in his prime at the rookie wage scale and it would have been done dada.

I just think it's a priority, bro. We just lost the best DT in the game in Suh. Now, we just acquired arguably a top 3 DT/NT in the game in Halata. He's productive, his knowledge for the game is unmatched, he's a winner, a leader. Why not lock him up?! Lol. You don't break the bank for him but you make him a happy man. I don't see why giving him an extra couple of years hurts this team. It's a win win situation IMO.

But they didn't draft Donald. Get the fuck over it. And the "juicing" part? Please, EVERYONE is on something. The man is an ALL PRO interior DLineman
