Nick Castellanos promoted to Erie

What the heck... Hey at least I admit when I am wrong... You just always want to be right. You need to re-read things.. What am I making up... RR is a bad fielder at second base that had a good start to the season fielding. When have I every made up crap about RR.. Please tell me when? I don't make any conclusions other then you can't have a .145 hitter bat anywhere in your line-up let alone batting second in a game even if he does hit in freaking August. I know he hits in the second half... But.. still Have you acknowledged his numbers have dropped every year the last 3 years... it is a fact... I posted that... No matter what rebbiv posts in the second half last year six of his last 7 homers were verses LHP.. Fact... He only played 45 games in the second half last year starting 31.. For a good month starting from July it was mostly verses LHP. Look it up.. I did... He started hitting somewhat last year but everyone acts like he is this savoir when in fact if you even his good and bad months out what do you get...A platoon player..
In 2011 in 56 games he had 10 errors at second base.. fact. His range is not good.. when Have I never not acknowledged he is fielding much better this year. I have.. But we all hold our breath when a ball is hit his way and so do you... I may have an opinion but i don't make anything up without stats to prove it. You talk about complaining like your a expert.. Since when is it OK for you to defend your point of view and not other posters. Just weird..

You know what we really need is to break down his good and bad months and see how many games he truly helps the tigers..

Raburn 2nd half 2011

July vsR = 7 PA .000 BAVG .143 OBP .000 SLG .143 OPS
July vsL = 16 PA .429 BAVG .500 OBP .714 SLG 1.214 OPS

AUG vs R = 42 PA .350 BAVG .366 OBP .600 SLG .966 OPS
AUG vs L = 21 PA .300 BAVG .333 OBP .350 SLG .683 OPS

SEP vs R = 27 PA .348 BAVG .444 OBP .609 SLG 1.053 OPS
SEP vs L = 28 PA .385 BAVG .429 OBP .731 SLG 1.160 OPS

vs R 76 PAs 3 HR 1.053 OPS
vs L 65 PAs 3 HR 1.159 OPS

So...where was this month that he only hit against LHP? And, if it was a month, the most it could have been was 38 PAs. 4 of his last 7 HRs have come against RHP

Again, this isn't being posted to "back" Raburn. It is to contradict claims you are making that are not true. And somehow I suppose you will claim my data is wrong, even though it was taken from each box score, event by event.

I was never upset with Miggy going to 3rd because we added a good bat and got rid of Inge at the same time.

But yes, a 2B was a big need in the off-season. And DY got way too much cash and Leyland saying "he'll be in left" - bad ideas.

I was concerned with how he was going to be there.

If he was gonna be 20+ runs below average than it wasn't gonna work, but in the 10-15 range is bat was gonna be good enough.

The problem is that they already knew without a doubt that they were gonna have bad defenders at both corner INF positions, so to also sacrifice defense in LF by tendering Young, and at 2B by playing Raburn there was simply horrible.

while i agree overall, johnson wasnt ever really out there because he accepted arbitration from the jays. maybe if we'd made a hard enough push to convince him otherwise we could have gotten him (wish we would have).

Ah, my mistake.

Either way, to start with Raburn at 2B and Young in LF was just poor management.

There were plenty of quality options for LF, so to resign Young was just dumb.

He's a horrible baseball player.

And Boesch is no better.

Our roster has two players in Kelly and Boesch with sub .280 OBP. There is no reason for either of them to be in the lineup at this point, and yet, Boesch is out there everyday, and Kelly is getting way more ABs than he should as well.

The injuries are no excuse either.

This is what you get when you have three $20 million players on the roster.
