Niners

Houston said today he will be practicing on Wednesday. I havnt heard anything on Delmas

What about Bentley? Wasn't he banged up?

He said he was fine on his Twitter, and it was reported that he was in good spirits in the locker room after the game. That doesnt mean he has been cleared, but it's still good news.

Hey there, hi there, ho there, I'm as SLAPPY AS CAN BE!

Lions 38
Niners 20

Last year they ran all over us. This is a different year and the DL and LBs did a heck of a good job against the Rams run attack, which is nothing to dismiss. Lions O got shell shocked last year, this time they'll be more prepared and less shocked. Did very well against the Niners last year and the team is better now. They are going to surprise many who have already crowned the Niners as champs.

Go Lions!!!

Trollololol!!

How is my prediction being a troll? Trolls antagonize and talk smack AGAINST your team...which is the complete opposite of what I did.

Slappy Kool-Aid guzzler by the keg, sure...but a troll against the Lions, most certainly NOT!

It would be nice to have Houston back...sounds like he's giving it a try practicing on wednesday...no word on Delmas..doesnt sound like he is ready...
It would be a great win, but dam they looked good at Lambeau

The Packers secondary looked worse than any Lions secondary I can remember. Woodson looks older than dirt all of the sudden. They made Alex Smith look like the second coming of Joe Montana.

This game really comes down to the secondary in my mind. If the Lions play well deep, they have a chance. No Houston? No Delmas? No Bentley? Bad plays? Green Gets burned?

It could get real ugly, or it could be much better than any of us expect.

If I have to watch Gore gash this team on that damn trap again then I may just blow my brains out

Make sure your gun is clean...

I would be very surprised if they managed to routinely stunt Suh again this year. I remember last year Suh would get super deep only to have the Right tackle pull over and take him out of the play time and time again. This opened up a huge hole and resulted in a big gain every time.

Both San Fransico and Atlanta did that to Suh very successfully. After those games he really wasn't the same player..I believe they got in his head and he was second guessing himself/not being as aggressive. Other teams im sure noticed that Suh would essentially take himself out of the play and also used the same strategy, but I didn't notice it. He didn't manage a single sack after those games until the last game of the season. That's saying something.

I have a feeling that Suh and Schwartz/Gunther worked a lot on countering that play and freeing up Suh to do what he does best. Im hoping that with a healthy Fairley/fresh C Will beside him that it would be harder to focus in on him. Either way It will be interesting to see how he does against the 49ers..I personally think he will have a solid game.

Last time we played the 9ers (at home) Stafford didn't have much time to throw most of the day and Gore gashed the wide 9 all day long. If we are to have any shot at winning this one those two things will have to improve and the D will need to force form turnovers.

splits on the dline during the rams game didnt seem to be as wide as last year. hopefully we keep them tight for the niners as well cause i still dream of levy and spievey whiffing on gore once he got to the second level last year.

Schwartz balked at saying the defense could transfer its confidence to stopping Gore this week. But he was pleased that the defense countered the Rams' "wham" trap play -- the same play the 49ers used for two huge runs last year against the Lions.

"They watched our tape last year and said right away, 'Hey, we're going to try that same play,' " Schwartz said. "I don't know if they got a yard on it. They tried to come back to it another time, and they weren't able to get anything.

Thats good to read. I am glad that they were able to counter that move against STL. Now lets see how they do against a top 10 O-line.

Harbaugh is a freaking genius of a head coach. He has Alex freaking Smith playing like a top 10 QB. He will out coach the Lions coaching staff. The Lions are going to have to play great and win the turnover battle to have a chance IMO.

I dont know, he is a damn good coach thats for sure, but I really think Schwartz is a damn good coach too. He has certainly done wonders with Smith, but thats too be expected, as he was a NFL QB. Keep in mind that his dominating defense was given to him on a silver platter by Singletary. Schwartz on the other hand has taken a Terrible Offense, Terrible defense, and turned it into a respectable, highly competetive team.

Harbaugh won the last round, but lets not act like he is some God that Schwartz must bow down to

what are you talking about ? whn Singletary left they were ranked 13th in total defense and gave up an avg of 21 points a game...When Harbaugh and his crew came in they took 7 points per game off that and moved them to #4 in total defense , and cut 20 yds per game avg of the rushing against...I give the credit Fangio not Singletary.

A lot of the reason for the improvement in the defense is because of the new offense that they are running. Ball control and don't turn it over. They rarely put the defense in a bad position.

I agree with that. Also, mostly what I meant was that the key defensive players were already on the Defense when Harbaugh took over (except Aldon Smith of course).

Either way, Harbaugh is a good coach, but I also think that Schwartz is a good coach. Both men are very similar in that they love to compete and are very feisty. I dont think that this game is going to be determined by the coaches. It will be determined by whichever team can limit the turnovers.

They're both pretty good coaches. But Harbaugh doesn't have nothing on Schwartz.

sure he does....He was NFL Coach of the Year....a 1st round NFL Draft pick as a player , made a Pro Bowl , won NFL comeback player of the year , AFC Player of the Year , and was a runner up MVP.

while Schwartzy geeked it out getting Bellichecks coffee and learning the game that way.
