Northwestern game

Warner is bad. That 2nd to last series was inexcusable. It's 2nd and 1 from the 11 and we call two play action slow developing pass plays that almost result in a safety. Then on 4th down he runs a power set with the back lined up 8 yards off the ball for the slow developing run play. Back lined up 8, not 7 yards off. It's a joke.

O Line health is getting worse, not better. Beedle is out for another month. Jarvis has a high ankle sprain, no idea when he's back. Chewins was supposed to be close to 100%, he played 1 snap Saturday. Campbell is banged up too and missed time Saturday.

So we are pretty much screwed on the O Line.

Defense is great against the run and awful against the pass. This is scheme IMO, we simply don't go nickel enough. When the other team lines up 5 wide they bare guaranteed of a slot WR being covered by a slow LB, and 2 other WRs being covered by safeties who can't cover. But all of that being said, I think the problem on Saturday was pass rush, Thorson had all day to throw, when he has time he's among the most accurate QBs in the country. The blitzes aren't working and the front 4 wasn't getting consistent pressure.

8-4 is our absolute ceiling now, but 6-6 is more likely than our ceiling.

maybe we need to have a deep conversation about what "not as bad as their record"
means.

After the NW game, I said this team wouldn't win any games they weren't supposed to and would lose at least one more they shouldn't. Glad to say I was wrong, but I'm still not expecting much for the balance of the season. Rutgers at home for the season ender is the only game left on the schedule we should definitely win - emphasis on "should."

Also, Davis is without a doubt our best receiver. Whoever said it was White is out of their mind.

If we lose to Rutgers I?ll have a bonfire of some MSU apparel
