Official 2019 Draft

At least this one isn?t like Ebron where he can?t block and had a bunch of drops even in college. He seems to be in the mold of Jason Witten.

Let's be honest guys, not ONE of us can even be a little bit surprised here. We all knew this could be the pick, and we've known it for months.

We knew this could be a possibility because we have a shitty GM and we haven't had a good GM in a long time.

I'm a little surprised the Bills still got Oliver and didn't have to trade up to do it.

We might as well start looking at the TE crop for 2020. How can one team draft so many TE's in the first round?

That's the comparison I've been hearing... He's not a guy you're going to set out wide and run deep routes... He'll be that traditional TE in our run heavy scheme and hopefully be good on 3rd downs and play action passes... Looks like the kid can block like a beast and that's probably why we took him. But why did we even sign James then? How many snaps is the kid going to play?

Pick 8 Detroit Lions ? TE T.J. Hockenson, Iowa

The Lions? offensive coordinator will need to make Hockenson?s receiving prowess a focal point of the Detroit offense in order for this pick to reach value, but he is clearly the most complete tight end in this class.
The Lions gave former Steelers TE Jesse James a big contract in March, thus the addition of Hockenson means Detroit is now possibly the most tight end-invested team in the league.

Hockenson led the draft class with an 89.5 overall grade in 2018.

His receiving grade was good for second among his classmates.

He had the lowest drop rate of any tight end in the FBS that saw 50-plus catchable targets (2.0%).

No tight end picked up more chain-moving receptions on third-down last season (15).

I'm back on board. Great pick! FORWARD DOWN THE FIELD...

You could use that logic for any position in the nfl. The league is littered with hall of farmers from not just the top ten lol.

It's actually not the same at all. I've shared the lists before. Historically, the better Tight Ends over the last 12 years or so have come after the first round more often.

Look at the bright side, we might have finally gotten a guy who won't drop Stafford passes.
