Official Day 3 Draft Thread

Perfect end of draft scenario...

Take Ifo with the next pick. 7th round pick...take the Collins kid from LSU. Fuck him and his threat to not sign his contract. His stock will be even worse next year if he does that.

I agree here. I don't think he goes back into the draft. If someone takes him, he will sign this season, because he's not going any higher with a year sitting out.

I would be 100% fine with taking him with a 7th.

I thought we already drafted next years fullback in the first.

Could you imagine? I've seen Collins mocked as high as the early teens. I have a feeling that we're too low in the 7th to get him, though. somebody will roll the dice.

Hell, I wouldn't mind taking him with this coming pick. I don't see a huge risk.

Why not? I'd take him in the 6th and remind him that Bo Jackson fell to the bottom of a longer draft after sitting out a year. He would be a steal in the 6th if you can take him.

Here's the question though. He said he was pulling out of the draft if he didn't go by round 3. Can he do that? Is he still eligible to be drafted at all?

Not sure to be honest.

Exactly. Whoever we take in the 6th is unlikely to make the roster, so we're not risking anything if we take him.

Do it.

Actually, I think I read that Collins has only started like 10 games at LSU. If he sits out, teams are going to pass on him next year, too. A short track record combined with a year out of football? Yeah, not a chance. He's not THAT good to still be a 1st or 2nd rounder next year.

Best training camp battle is going to see who wins the FB fight.....laken or our 5th rounder. Laken better start working on his hands!

Uhhh I don't think he can pull out. His agent said they wouldn't sign with a team if he wasn't drafted in the second or third round, so that tells me he can't remove his name.

You're correct. He won't get drafted at all next year, he hasn't proven it.

Take him now, make him your offer, and if he walks, fuck it.

Not sure. I know he couldn't enter the supplemental, but guys have said before they were not going into the draft, so I'm not sure if he can't say "remove my name".

Would seem, legally speaking, he should have that right.

makes you wonder if Goodell has put him on the secret Do Not Draft list. NFL has a way of finding out information they need. They just were too dumb to use it in the ray rice situation. They don't make that mistake moving forward. Theres no way this kid is "not a suspect"...ofcourse hes a suspect and I wouldn't doubt teams were instructed to stay far far away. Someone would have already rolled the dice otherwise....

My initial reaction is to say "that's just dumb, there is no secret Do Not Draft List.". Then I think for five seconds, and of course there is. There's no way there couldn't be.

If he goes back into the draft, would he get a combine invite next year and another pro day? This situation is so fucked up. I guess I can't blame people for not picking him.

I don't think so.

HOLY SHIT! I just saw that Ifo ekpre-olomu has an insurance policy that just paid him 3 million dollars because he didn't get drafted in the first 3 rounds. WOW.

I thought I saw something today that said the kid would NOT be allowed to enter the draft next year.

its actually very simple....don't kill ppl and you get drafted in the first round. lol
