One of our possible targets declares

We need two big space eaters, (rare those guys play every down) draft and FA could provide Mitch. Don't forget LBs as well.

Ansah on the outside, levy as a Mike, tulloch as a Ted. Grab a OLB in draft. Suh and Fairley at the End spots, grab a NT in draft. Get a WR still.. Not ideal but workable, at least initially.

In fact I think you can use levy as OLB still, stop the run, cover, occasional blitz. With Ansah blitzing most of the time. He can line up on either side. I just want a 3-4 so bad.

I read an article when Whisenhunt was at Arizona, he had 3-4 hybrid before he went full blown 3-4. That's an option.

i love the idea of Ansah as a blitzing OLB but i have no faith in Fairley playing DE, Suh would be a stretch too. And our LBs are on the smaller side. Would take a major overhaul really

If we had a big ugly at NT, and yeah a bit bigger on the inside LB positions. Maybe down the road. It's my dream scenario.

Pendergast was the DC with Whisenhunt his first 2 years at Zona when they ran the hybrid. He could be available. He is the DC at USC right now.

It would just take a NT who can play alot and one very good OLB agreed on that.

Depth would suck though. And I don't think Suh and Fairley would like it. In fact, I don't think Suh would want to sign long term in a 3-4.

Suh not here long term might not be a bad thing. I agree with the depth that's why maybe a hybrid at first might work..

Suh had his best year this year. He is a monster. I think he gets held a ton too but the refs just refuse to call it for some reason. Best run D and more consistent pressure than 2010 though the sacks were a few less.

If we are running a 3-4, trading Suh is a good idea if he doesn't buy into the scheme. Trade is the best option by far. Could get that OLB and Nose tackle with those extra picks and still get a number 2 WR.

I really don't trust Fairley as a 3-4 DE though.

I don't know if any of our players would be okay in 3-4 but I'm past being a fan of players and just want to win regardless who we have..

Antonio Smith, Tyson Jackson or Arthur Jones if you want a 3-4 DE.

Raji, Terrence Cody, Franklin don't really do the trick at nose tackle. Raji moved to 3-4 DE this year.

Funny, that hughes wanted cobb, an under 6 ft receiver that he is totally against drafting now.

funny cobb was drafted at the end of the 2nd round....and youre talking about using a #10 pick on one. Not to mention you have to look at what was left on the board....I wanted cobb over titus. Are you going to argue I was wrong?

LOL. You are bashing 2011. Lions did extremley well throwing the ball. 41 TDs ring a bell. 5,038 yards.

Smith got more targets than Titus Young. You couldn't to hold that against him. Smith had a worse catch rate than Young in 2011.

LOL....you were talking about titus....and cheenos argument made sense....so you start backtracking and talking about smith LOL!

We were talking about all 3. His argument didn't make sense for Smith. Cobb didn't get the targets as the 4th string. Smith did but Young did just as well with less targets.

Young outproduced Cobb in 2011. Fact
Cobb won 2012 by far
Cobb hurt this year but produced when in there and Young is insane.

You wanted Cobb.
1) Prove it.
2) who cares really as Young was taken at the proper rating in mid Round 2. No clue if Thompson would have picked Cobb or Young if given the choice in Round 2

Fairley would be the odd man out....hes not a 3-4 DE. Not sure why you don't think terrance cody would do well at NT.....I figured with him being a big fat ass...that's about all hed be good at. Suh at 3-4 DE is meh....hes talented enough to do it.....but I think your wasting his talents. If youre mayhew in an interview with whisenhunt you are pushing him to get a 4-3 DC. Whisenhunt should be smart enough to oblige until he has a couple years to make roster changes/let contract run their course (fairley).

1) Young played...GB had 4 WRs infront of Cobb that produced.
2) We threw the ball an NFL record amount of times and Titus still didn't put up very good numbers.
3) Cobb was a "luxury" pick they could bring along slowly because they had very few holes on that team. Our "luxury" pick was broyles on a team full of holes. Titus was a need for a deep threat opposite CJ....rarely did he follow through on obliging that need.
4) Young went nuts. Cobb is a rising star in GBs offense.
5) prove it? are you new to the board? Ive been saying since the day he was drafted it was a bad pick. Titus, levy, spievey, best....I don't know how much more proof you need that I hated all of those picks....ive said it on almost a daily basis for 4 years.

Gb had a ton of defensive and Oline holes in 2011. Still do

Young had a good rookie year. Just as good as Smith and better than Cobb

Record amount was 2012. Young missed 6 games from insanity.

2011 Young was the better pick. 2012 and beyond Cobb wins. Young was a solid choice at the time. Your hindsight is getting old.

Prove you wanted Cobb.

Yep, looking at their skill sets, I would take Titus over Cobb if he had a normally functioning brain.
