KalineCountry]Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports hears from a source that Braun tested positive for a prohibited substance, not a performance-enhancing drug. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was told the same thing, with his source saying there's "never" been a result like this since MLB's drug testing program began.

Braun didn't take PED.
from wisconsinjournalsentinel

But my source -- and again, this is from Braun's end and not MLB -- familiar with the test's findings says the "prohibited substance" was not a performance-enhancing drug or steroid of any kind. And the source says there has "never" been a result like this in the history of the MLB testing program.
The source said MLB "knows that Ryan is telling the truth" and that source firmly believes the postive test will be overturned.

So what is going to cause a positive test then?

Find out soon enough.
I was talking with a couple of friends today about this, and remembered something about players getting supplements from GNC that had a substance in one of them that was not allowed by mlb.
But also, whatever braun took showed up to be a synthetic form of testosterone...

Mitch]I just want one guy to say "..yeah you caught me, my bad".

Andy Petite was about as close as we are going to get. Canseco said I did it and so did everyone else.

I know some will say they all do it, who cares etc. But I hate it too. It messes MLB up, even if just a little bit. Stupid people. I just hope no Tigers' are dumb enough to do it.

Me too.. that would really bum me out...

My guess is Pudge was on PEDs while he was here. It wouldn't surprise me if Maggs was on them too.

yeah Tom, it would be naive or homerific to think a couple of recent Tigers did not use something.
My thoughts at times the past couple of seasons were maybe Maggs/Carlos used the ped that increased the healing time from injury like what andy pettitte used.

They're all on junk. ALL OF THEM.

How any of you are surprised is laughable in itself.

I always wondered how he went from being called "Pudge" to being called "Slim" and nobody really gave a shit!

This.

Maybe not all, but to believe that the majority of players aren't taking them is naive.

The founder of Balco recently said players can take them the night after a game and they'll be able to pass MLBs drug test the next afternoon.

You figure with testing they do have it had to have gotten better at least a little bit. Plus besides Steroid boy in Toronto, HR are down.

right, I posted this one earlier today,
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=Au....t esting_121211
Testing loophole may leave door open for doping.
from yahoosports

and found this one with Victor Conte,
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/i-team/balco-head-victor-conte-major-league-baseball-sophisticated-drug-testing-hgh-article-1.981021
Former BALCO head Victor Conte says Major League Baseball needs more sophisticated drug testing for HGH.
MLB needs to step it up, says former PED kingpin.
