OT: Deadly Friday

Ha, Jever! Same age...... Back in the day my Dad used some story about going to the automotive department to get in and went straight to the Toys area and snagged my sister a Cabbage Patch Doll. Apparently he almost went to blows with some lady but made it out.

And last year, for me, my son wanted an Optimus Prime Transformer ....guy at Toys R Us was holding the last one on the shelf, looking at it, and put it down. I immediately picked it up and bought it, but this was prob Dec 20th and there was no violence or mace or CPR involved.

Glad your dad made it out unscathed. Some people weren't as fortunate. As for the transformer situation, that's perfectly normal circumstance. You waited for him to put it down, it's fair game at that point. if it was black Friday and it turned into tug-o-war, yeah, no thanks..

So when will we finally put an end to the stupid/relatively new invention, Black Friday?

Woman in LA maces people trying to buy some 'doorbuster' and a guy in WV at a Target collapses and dies while other shoppers literally step over him ...?! My sister, and her Sparty wisdom decides to go out at midnight on Thanksgiving and gets shoved by two 20-somethings at a WalMart, pushing her away from some electronic gadget she was trying to buy for her son?!


People are so fucking stupid.

Typical West Virginia. Those poor white trailer trash will do anything for a good sale. Lol




Also, I have no clue how Radio Shack is still in business. Who goes there?

I personally think Radio Shack is horribly overpriced. But I also feel the same about most things at Best Buy.

Aren't the best, savagest and most desparate department store fisticuffs typically Christmas Eve, instead of Black Friday?

If you miss out on Black Friday, you have all the rest of the holiday shopping season to make it up.

On the other hand, miss out on Christmas Eve and you're fucked.

I have no respect for the financial savings aspect BF offers, which has been proven to be minimal...especially when you factor in the traffic, parking, chaos, etc...

I do, however, respect the traditions/bonding women have and their zeal for this day. Men have created more than a few unofficial holidays (Thank God) to go out.......so let the gals stand in line and beat the hell out of each other........good, clean fun.
