OT : Marlins make Albert 10 year offer.

I think it'd be dumb for both albert and the marlins.

why ?? lol

for 1/4 of a billion....It would take me about a second and a half.

But for 10yrs? I doubt once albert gets up there around 37 he won't be near the same player.

And for albert, why would you go from a world series team to a crap team. Just for money.

crap ??

Reyes , Hanley , Heath Bell , Albert possibly CJ Wilson....Marlins wont be crap in 2012

I don't believe Pujols is 31...he is probably more like 34-35. In 3 years he will be a an above average player. In 5 years he will be average. Years 7-10 he will be a liablity on the field and at the plate....not even considering what he will do to their payroll in years 5-10.

As great as he is, he's past was is historically considered his prime. I'm sure he will have another few years of very good production but a 10 yr contract? Shows that if your team sucks you have to over pay for talent.

What about their pitching

10th in the NL last year....the World Champs were 8th

signed Heath Bell...9th inning is locked down.

Obv the Marlins would be much improved but I wouldn't be printing WS tickets. Far from it. Look what happened to their basketball team.

Damn man. And when they win a WS they all get unloaded. Wish the Tigers rolled like that.

Pujols is a beast, but I'm not interested for 10yrs. As was already said, I highly doubt he's 31, and you're gonna hand him an A-Rod type deal. How's that looked for the Yankees?

Miami should be great for the next couple years, but 3-4yrs from now when Reyes' speed starts to go and Pujols turns 40, and HanRam hits 300lbs, these deals are gonna look awful.

From 2008-2010, NY only paid $50.7 Mil, where TEX paid $21.32 while he played for NYY.

Yep, but NYY was stupid enough to up his deal once more and foot the entire bill from here on out. ARod is a good player, but that deal is awful.

Beyond that, Miami ain't the Yankees either. New York has sooooo much more revenue that it's ridiculous. They can actually afford to have a terrible deal like that. Miami is gonna turn big-time, but they are never gonna be the Yankees.

Well then they should be printing WS tickets. Just not etching their name on the trophy.
