Pettigrew a potential draft day trade target?

the fuck do you hope to get from a guy that catches 1 ball every 3 games?

Draft TE(1) in Round 1 -
TE(1) Disappoints -
UDFA outplays TE(1)
Resign TE(1) -
Draft TE(2) in Round 1 -
Destroy any value TE(1) has left -
TE(2) Disappoints -
Trade TE(1) for a 7th

It really does sound like a textbook example of how NOT to be a GM. Like they would type that up in an idiots guide for General Managers.

well in all fairness, Mayhew is just practicing what he was taught by Millen, only instead of constantly drafting shitty WRs until he finally came across one any single-celled organism could not miss on in CJ, Mayhew has extended the practice to TEs.

UDFA outproducing your 2nd round pick you traded up for and lost value is kinda millenesque. So I guess we can apply that to RB as well.

Lather, rinse, repeat. Lions need to upgrade their product though cuz this shit never gets them clean.

2009 (with an extra 1st) and 2014 (and it was a need). Plenty of other picks in between. 11-5 last year. Shhhhh

If it was a need, and he didn't contribute but we still won 11 games how was it a need?

NEED:

1. Require (something) because it is essential or very important.
"I need help now"

The other players were just that good. Great job Mayew. The need is satisfied in year 2 with Ebron.

No needs for 2015. Purely depth and drafting for fun.

It was a need. 3rd receiving option was our only need. That's how great this team is.

2015 is purely a depth draft.

Usually your troll post have some sort of statement within them that causes one to think...well maybe someone who doesn't know football, is a blind homer, could actually believe this is true.

But I don't think there is a person in the world that believes what you just wrote above. After this post you took a drop in your troll rating...you slipped to #20 (at least it's one better than Stafford in QB rating). However this is the first time Tony has passed you as the biggest troll on this board.

All I do is state the truth of how great the Lions are.

11-5. Clearly not a troll.

Drafting for fun? :lmao:

"I think I'll just take him for shits and giggles."

It's just really frustrating, because I still think LKP could be a real welcome to this board. But it's just degenerated into rinse, repeat.

If Ebron turns into the best TE in the NFL, it's still hard to justify the pick given that he was taken at #10 overall, and is still the third option in the offense. The ball is going to Calvin first, Tate second, and Ebron third if he develops.

Add in that the Lions could take Melvin Gordon or Todd Gurley in the first this year, and it could push Ebron down even further in terms of productivity.

Our biggest needs entering the draft in '14 were corner and defensive tackle. We ignored both to take a third option in a passing game that the coaches say they want to limit.

He could be in for a 50 catch, 500 yard, 5 TD season.. which is pretty darned productive for a 2nd year Tight End, and it would still be difficult to justify the pick at #10.
