Get StartedLions were better and yes turnovers screwed us. Some flukes, some self inflicted from talented players. Some injury related. Lions had just as crucial injuries. They played healthier teams and hotter teams than Green Bay. Green Bay did not overcome anything. They went 2-5-1. They struggled big time. They had a one game lead on the division with Rodgers and that is what they won it by. If Green Bay went 10-6 or 11-5 you might have a point. But they didn't. Neither did Chicago. All 3 teams could have won 10-11 with more health. Detroit swept Chicago and can sweep Green Bay. They are the more talented team but had coaching issues and the strength of their team got hurt at WR. Stafford still produced well and as best he good given the circumstances. He's a good QB. Fumbles, drops, separation, lack of turnovers. All just too much for any QB. Issues that have been addressed. New coaching and 2 new weapons was exactly the right call by Mayhew to fix this team. And we'll see the result in 2014.
You are misunderstanding what I was saying. You made my point very clear for me. Green Bay struggled to a 2-5-1 record without Rodgers yet made the playoffs anyway. It was a fact that the injury hurt them (I agree with you there that injuries hurt teams). However they still won the division. No excuse necessary for them, they got it done. Lions didn't. Meanwhile you go on to list further excuses "we played hotter more healthier teams." So what? If you're a playoff team than prove it and win some of those games.
I do not think Stafford is terrible. He can be quite good to very good if he can just get some consistency. I hope that you are right about what you say, but I still think you just like to get a rise out of people.
Seven and nine
If this team is really better than that, they can prove it this season. If not, you can just call them the same old Lions.
Green Bay did not win that division. They didn't do anything to overcome anything. They sucked when hurt and played very hurt teams for 2 wins. Lions played healthier hotter teams. Just because they won it doesn't mean they did anything.
If Detroit was healthier they would have won it. All 3 teams are 10-11 win teams. That is the point, not that Green Bay won it at 8-7-1. They had a game lead with health. 5-2 and then 6-2 Rodgers (Week 17). This is a tough division when healthy despite the records.
Ok that's enough for me You guys enjoy conversing with Mr. LKP throughout the year, as I find it pretty tiresome. I've fed this troll enough.
You know I'm right about the Lions. You'll eat crow soon enough.
Nobody stays healthy. Why are you even bothering to compare the teams when everyone "is healthy?" You and I both know that is pointless, as everybody suffers through injuries. Divisions are not decided by lining up everybody's roster on a sheet of paper and voting on who has the best healthy roster. Green Bay did overcome an injury. They made the playoffs. It's a bottom line world, and a bottom line league. Not for you apparently. You're happy that the Lions "should have" won the division. What good does that do us?
"Hey boss IF there weren't heavy traffic, and IF the Starbucks guy hadn't given me the wrong order, and IF I hadn't accidentally missed my exit I would have been here on time!!" Not gonna fly.
This is a professional organization, and one that hasn't done anything since 1957. Stop babying them and letting them off the hook.
you don't post to inform us, you try to shove your BS down our throats whether we want to hear it or not. that's not informing anybody of anything. and your passive aggressive bright and cheery outlook on a team that clearly has talent, but also has flaws, just gets annoying.I don't post for a reaction. I post to inform you. I post so if a Lions random fan comes here, they will realize they all aren't negative idiots with no clue about how the games actually went or how much talent is on this team.
exactly what is in bold... you can't make up stats for something that never happened, yet you do it anyways. constantly. there is no such thing as a "true touchdown" or "true completion" when the ball is dropped or intercepted. if the ball wasn't caught, it doesn't count. period. You took 1 quarter of stats for Matt Stafford and said he had a "true 400 yard day with 4 tds and 0 ints". That is called extrapolating my friend, to make it seem like Stafford had a beast of a game. He did play very well, but it was for one quarter in the preseason. That is not being negative, it is just stating a fact. I didn't take much away from his performance other than some encouragement on his pump fake TD, which was very pretty. The Raiders defense had no time to make adjustments to the Lions offense before Stafford was taken out, and it was in the second half of games that Stafford had issues last year. I'm not going to post phony stats to paint a picture of a complete game that never happened. It's like when Dmitri Young hit 3 home runs for the Tigers on opening day and saying he was on pace to hit 486 home runs that season. Stupid and pointless.
you just contradicted yourself... within the same paragraph. you can't even get your stories straight, yet you wonder why people call you a troll. It was clearly a made up exaggeration based on what the others said about taking TDs away from Stafford. It wasn't an extrapolation and Stafford does just fine in second halfs too. He's a comeback king.
exactly... you can't claim to know things that haven't happened yet. we can all hope for the best, but until it actually happens, it's 100% speculation.I don't know anything, and neither do you sir. I hope they are as good as you say, and never did I say they would definitely not be so I will have nothing to eat crow about. I have my doubts about how good they can be, and you don't. Apparently you have quite a long and notorious history on this board, so I can only assume you've been posting with this gimmick for years now.
Even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while as they say. I hope they find it this year!

No it wasn't. You 100 percent believe that when you posted it. Don't backpedal. You got caught. Deal with it.
Do you know what the word extrapolate means? It means you take a small sample, and stretch it out to fit the entire picture. You took Stafford's numbers in the 1st quarter of a pre-season game, and EXTRAPOLATED them for the entire game.
This, and your entire 13 page thread about how amazing Drayton Florence is just shows why no one on here will ever take you serious. You defend the guy to the high hills, then he gets cut a week later. Hilarious.
