I was thinking about that? Rather than any score of those four opportunities that little sister gave us at the end of the first half, our guys Went out of their way to make little sister feel that she was still in the game.

That was very sporting of us, which is consistent with the definition Of a 14 point clown stomping.

Yes, though I disagree that good coaches/teams do this, I can think of no other explanation for why Michigan didn't score on those four opportunities other than Harbaugh and the team knew that they didn't need to score. They were right. So, I admit I was wrong on this point. Given this I guess I also have to reluctantly admit that this was a clown stomping by SpartanMack's definition.

I wonder if MSU was defeated with dignity, though?

Well, they (including their head coach, who is supposedly a REALLY good coach, and not just lucky at all) tried to pick a physical fight before the game, and it was an "80 on 5" fight.

They also talked about all their injuries constantly, their cocky QB who looks like a Nazi punk was 5-25 on the day for a 20% completion rate, they gained more yards through penalties than running & passing, and their only "drive" of the day was sustained by 5 consecutive dumb penalties on our part...

so...

I'm gonna say NO.

I just noticed this from the box score on MGoBlue.com: they were only on our side of the field three times the whole game: once on their first drive of the second half (which was extended by a 15 yard personal foul), and ended with a punt anyway, then on Evans' fumble, and the third time on their penalty-ridden last drive of the game.
That's lights-out defense.

LOL @ this:
"And afterwards, Higdon summed it up as if reciting a poem:
'We came here,

they were talking trash.

when the whistle blew

there was nothing they could do.'"

I?m watching the DVR replay from FS1 (edits out delay)

The D is unreal

Yeah, I recorded the game last night at 1am and then i recorded the 1 hour long replay on BTN

The 1 hour long replay cuts out a lot of extra stuff in order to shorten it to 1 hour, though

can't believe this is 10-9

i wonder if someone made some ghost accounts

it started off like 7-1 or something

Look at these statistics!!!! Just looooooook at them!

MSU's offense:

  • 13 total drives (not counting 1 possession that ended before it got started on fumbled PR & one other that was a kneel down before the half)
  • 6 Three-and-outs
  • only three (3) drives over 20 yards
  • only two (2) drives over 40 yards, of which the first (44 yards) included a 15 phantom unsportsmanlike penalty on Mone, and the second (48 yards) included a whopping 44 penalty yards on us
  • 11 punts, 1 turnover on downs
  • 7 for 28, 79 yards passing
  • 23 rushes for 15 net yards
  • 0 for 12 on third down
  • 94 yards of total offense
  • 18:57 TOP... they held the ball for just over a quarter total.

If this WASN'T a clownstomping, I don't know what is...

(Maybe if we would've kicked that FG?)
