Possible Smith trade

I'll say here what I commented on ESPN... If Van Gundy can move Smith for players with shorter contracts and/or better fits for this team without giving up a future first round pick, Pistons fans and even Detroit beat writers will be throwing their underwear at his feet like he was some 80's teen icon lol

This is true. For all the negative talk about Monroe (with a big contract coming up), Smith was a much bigger problem last year.

Pistons could literally get a ham sandwhich for Smith and it would be a good deal because his contract hamstrings the franchise a bit in addition to creating a terribly floor spacing problem for the team. Not to mention Smith might be one of the most inefficient offensive players in the league.

Knowing how shady pro sports is, my gut tells me SVG is letting Monroe know that Smith will be gone soon so they can get his deal done.

Based on the original Smith proposals (which are probably dead now), this wouldn't affect anything. Sacramento isn't looking to give up anyone good for Smith, and the most likely contracts are still Thompson/Williams if a trade happens.

I still feel like something big is going to happen. It's just been too quiet.
