Preseason Game 3: Jaguars @ Lions

Offense = Meh!
Defense = Meh!
Preseason is meaningless, however:
Regular season will = Meh!

Case for what? A 3-4 who you going to sit? Van Noy I guess? I say let Fairley eat himself into a nose.

I took two things out of this game...

#1 Broyles has an amazing amount of talent if he can just stay healthy.
#2 If you play patty cake with Suh, your arms will rip off.

You asking me that question? Whitehead was flying all over the place making plays. He "dominated" the game last night. Hate on the kid and hate on Mayhew because that's what you guys only know how to do, but you can't ignore his play. And i never said sit anyone over Whitehead. I'm not calling the kid the next Ray Lewis. I'm just saying he made a case for himself to maybe play more on the field except ST play. This is a good thing. Look at it in a postive fn way for once.....holy fk.

Whitehead looked really good last night. He missed one coverage assignment on the tight end where he played the rolling qb instead but thats a tough play for anyone to make. He definitely looked better than Palmer.

Yes I'm saying how tard. How does he play more when you just spent a high pick on his position? Right now if Whitehead is the real deal his ceiling is good LB depth along with Palmer because you just spent a second rounder on Van Noy. He may play out his rookie deal to lach on somewhere else. Again read the question how's he going to play? That's generally what you do on a message board about football, you converse about the ins and outs of player selection, performance, cuts, trades, draft who plays...not smoke yourself silly and rant with abbreviated curse words. Although I do find that funny as hell, I'm just saying if you have a real opinion now and then feel free to post it.

If you want to talk Mayhew he's either as surprised as us or he has absolutely no pulse on the players he has. You take projects like Whitehead so when they hit you don't have to spend a high pick on a Sam linebacker. My guess? He's flabbergasted he may have actually filled a hole with a late round pick as we are. Ahh well depth is a luxury on this team, personally I'd like to see an actual plan for building it's finishing touches rather than this BPA crap still at this stage, it reeks of having no real vision or knowledge of what you have or what you done.

Smoke myself silly? Listen, fuckstick, you know nothing about me. Not a thing ok. Meet me at a Lions game one time and we'll discuss it in person ;)

And i read your comments. Don't be mad at yourself for Whitehead's performance last night. You sound like a chick. We all know the doom and gloom club looooooove to rip on Mayhew's picks, but when one of them shows a pulse, you fn clowns chalk it up as a mystery or "what do we do now"? It's actually a good thing to have options at multiple positions. Palmer isn't exactly the youngest guy either. So maybe just maybe Mayhew was planning ahead. Of course you idiots don't see it like that. All you tards see is a mid round draft pick outplaying a 2nd rounder and you automatically bash Mayhew for it ...lol. Comical to tell you the truth.

It's impossible for people to understand shit happens. Mayhew is supposed to be a wizard with fortune telling powers. No reason to complain about whitehead playing good. Or van noy being only two games into a preseason career. Good example with San Diego taking rivers while they had Brees. I guess they were supposed to magically know Bree's would turn into a football god the following season after stinking it up for a couple of years.

He played good, once. In a preseason game. Big fuckin' deal. I wouldn't be surprised if he was gone after the year..

You've missed the point, which seems obvious since nowhere is Whitehead ever disparaged, in fact unless you didn't have eyes he was a beast.

And at least initially Mayhew wasn't even mentioned, all though in my second post you did troll me into criticizing his foresight, that when you draft 11 project linebackers in 5 years under the guise that they are BPA (we traded up for Whitehead) that you should plan on at least one of those 11 working out otherwise why not just set you picks on random and let Yahoo auto draft...I mean what's the plan stan or do you have one? Has Mayhew's drafting strategy changed any as we have changed as a team from 0-16?

But that too is besides the point and another discussion altogether. I asked how can we get Whitehead more involved...simply and only...and its a question you haven't answered, which leads me to think you are basically an opinionless troll who thinks nonsensical rants put people in there place so to speak.

And you're right I don't know you but if I had to guess I imagine you somewhere along the lines of a young Rob Ford...he's the only person I know of that can get high and spastically belligerent at the same time.

Does competition matter? The year we went 0-16 the lions were preseason champs. Kitna had a perfect qb rating I believe and the defense was the best all preseason only allowing like 11 ppg.

That's my point..looking good in preseason against inferior competition doesn't give me warm and fuzziness.

Mayhew isn't supposed to be a wizard it was his plan! You need to be a wizard to follow your plan? And your metaphor doesn't make sense at all in this situation as who is Brees? Whitehead? Who is Rivers? Van Noy? Vice versa? It would be more like if next year we drafted Jamies Winston or something? IDK its your failed analogy. You tell me.

It's awesome, bro!!! Mayhew can do nothing right. EVER! We either have too much depth or not enough depth, this guy outplays that guy = Mayhew should have known that. It's a neverending circle of vaginas bleeding all over each other. Has Mayhew fucked up before?? Absolutely, but he's hit on players as well. Problem with this board and it's posters? Everybody is looking for the next Ray Lewis, Reggie White, John Elway, Barry Sanders RIGHT AWAY. It doesn't work like that. For the most part anyways. Sometimes it takes a few years. We're Lions fans.....all we have is time lol. It's all we fn got!!

Of course it's not a big deal. But he did play good. If he played bad, you guys would be all over it. And don't deny it...

In Whiteheads case it took two years as planned. No problem with Van Noy he could be the next LT for all we know. But stick to the initial plan and one of the 3 linebackers you drafted in the middle rounds turns into a starter. All the Mayhew lovers are okay with that being the plan for the secondary...remember Bentley Green Greenwood Honey Boo Boo Gary Coleman? The guy seems to be directionless other than BPA, any moron can go BPA its totally subjective anyways. Try building the team with an actual plan. This is part and parcel. Anyways Tone how we going to get him on the field more as you suggested? I'm going with the 85 Bears 4-4 although the league may have changed a bit from then.

I didn't troll you into anything. The draft is a crapshoot. Not everyone will hit. Surprise!!! Who cares how many LBS they have drafted over the years? You hit on a couple....bonus. Mayhew doesn't need to change his strategy. Why change, because you don't like it? lol. Get over yourself immediately.

And if Whitehead shows more playmaking ability over Van Noy or Palmer, YOU PLAY HIM!! Real tough eh bud?! lol. Genius i know. Not that hard a decision. Caldwell is holding these guys accountable. Look what he's doing with Fairley. He's not starting Fairley over Mosely because he was a high 1st rd pick. He's playing the guy with more drive and heart right now. Same can be done with the LBS. It's not rocket science.

So keep telling me i'm a troll, or i'm just a stoner ranting and swearing. It's all you have. And that "have" is nothing. When it comes to football talk, i'll talk circles around you 24/7. You? You sound like a 10 year old half the time i read your garbage.

I'm getting ready for: "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!"

BPA is a strategy though. A lot of teams do it. Not just the Lions.

And i already told you how you get Whitehead on the field. You have a good old fashioned slobberknocker LB competition and the last 2 standing are the winners/starters. It's not that hard to understand, but yes, make it hard on the coaches to make a decision on who they want on the field the majority of the time every Sunday.
