Preseason Game 4: Lions @ Bills Thread

Oh give me a GD break Tony, what exactly has Dan O done in this pre-season to warrant him being a #2 quarterback?

All we are picking from is Dan O and Kellen Moore. If he's not the #2 behind Stafford, the coaches don't know their head from the hole in the wall. I get that Caldwell has a hard on for Orlovski, but he's not 1st backup material.

Dude, I don't like Moore or Orlovsky. Newsflash, brother - they're both dog shit..lol. Either of them enter the game, you might as well flip to NASCAR because the season is done.

And you're going to rip on the coaches if they select Dano? lol. Typical fn whining from the Doom and Gloom Club. Who fn cares?!?! Moore played decent against a bunch of guys that won't be playing in the NFL next week. It doesn't matter who your backup is. His name isn't Steve Young.

How is it whining when Kellen Moore has clearly proven he can do stuff in the pre-season compared to Dan? They are both going up against backups. It's not like Orlovski has been playing the best of the best. We've all seen Dan Orlovski play. He's horrible. Why not let Moore have a crack at it?

I understand we are talking about someone that may never play, but why wouldn't you take a chance and reward the kid for proving himself a little bit?

And I'm not going to die on this hill. I just think you give him a crack at it if he needs to fill in a half, or a game in case something does happen to Matty Ice.

We've seen what Dan can do. And it's run out of the back of the end zone.

I understand all that, but at this point, I don't think it matters. I'll admit, Moore has stepped up and DanO is DanO, but I really don't care either way. Stafford goes down, this team is fucked.

Well I think you can say the same for almost any starter in the NFL. Once they go down, the backup QB has a near impossible task to carry the team. But I like what I've seen from Moore. I think he has the ability to maybe stem the tide for a few weeks in case Stafford does go down. Dan doesn't have that period.

I think that we have seen Moore's arm get stronger the past 2 years. It was his decision making that made his so successful in college. Can he carry this team, no way. But if he steps in for a game or two I think he gives us a better chance than Dan.

I remember once when Tom Brady got hurt .. not every back up has to be safety man.

I think the real question is how much more screwed would we be with one vs. the other?

Unless I'm mistaken, there aren't available, viable backups out there anyway. We're more or less stuck with what we have. I'd rather be stuck with Moore than Dan O.

If we have a good record and are on our way to bEing playoff bound and stafford goes down. .... you trade a mid round pick for mallet or Hoyer.
