Red Wings at Blackhawks SCSF Series Thread

Red Wings had logged over 12,000 air miles in 3 round trips to Anaheim while playing every other night in the 1st round.

Let's see how the play next game or two.

Good point KC and the same reason why I think all us Wing fans welcome realignment. Well that and the late start times since we're not the ones traveling....

Well, hey, fellas, today was better!!!

Since nobody started a game 2 thread, and nobody made a single post during the game to any thread, I changed the name of this thread from Game 1 to Series thread.

Can be changed back, of course, if anybody wants to.

Was lurking on the ESPN conversations game thread off and on this afternoon, many now butt-hurt hawks fans, who had posted during the first two periods that their team was going to sweep & bury the Red Wings, then they mostly disappeared during the third...lol.

Put this in the Red Wings Notes thread, forgot about this Red Wings vs. black hawks thread.

Red Wings win 4 - 1 over blackhawks.

Blackhawks were 5-0 vs Red Wings this season and 10-0-2 in last 12 home games prior to today, but lose to Red Wings decisively.

"We wanted to play better today and we did." - Henrik Zetterberg.

"We were better throughout the whole game...today we played well for 60." - Jonathan Ericsson.

"We were happy how we played in all zones. It's good to see us bounce back." - Kyle Quincey.

Today's Stars of the Game Powered by RamTrucks are...
1. D. Brunner (1 Goal)
2. H. Zetterberg (2 Assists)
3. N. Kronwall (1 Assist)

"This was a better game for us...when you do good things, good things happen" - Mike Babcock.

"I thought Smith was outstanding" - Mike Babcock.

"I got three penalty killers on fourth line now...(Miller) makes us a much better team." - Mike Babcock.

"It was great we had an off day...now we're freshened up and series on." - Mike Babcock.

Well what do ya know? News flash...this team really IS capable of beating the Blackhawks. Don't look now. Series on.

Crow tastes so fucking good.

Amen!

These guys are playing with some serious tenacity. They're hungry...hopefully this year's Kings. And Howard...how well is he playing? Shit's magical fellas...

If you'd have told me that there would be a 4 to 1 penalty ratio for Chicago and that Detroit would be winning 2-0 I'd have slapped you.

2-1 and they just waved off a 2nd goal by Chicago. Things starting to favor Chicago.

I say this with great caution...but I'm starting to really believe...

Maybe it's just because it's fresher in my mind, but I think Sergei was Datsyuk 1.0.

I'm sure you'd get a red hot debate on that one because I know people have ill will towards Sergei even to this day. If you put a gun to my head I'd stick to my original take but you can't really go wrong either way. We're fortunate they've both been Red Wings.

Nice win! Hawks starting to become really dirty because things have got rough for them.

The wings are doing to chicago what has happened to them a few times in the past. They arent as skilled per se but they are really roughing up the hawks stars.

Well Fellas...

Wings take a 2-1 series lead.

Don't know 'bout the rest a yas', but I think I'll be checkin' in 8 pm EDST Thurday on NBCSN for Game 4 at the Joe....

...eh...

True story. And like I said maybe it's because it's fresher in my mind. Pavel just seems to be a magician with the puck and not that Fedorov couldn't handle the puck, because obviously he could, but Pavel always pulls shit out of his ass (not literally). He could have five guys on him and he'd put the puck between each one of their legs, skate circles, and then put the biscuit in the basket.

Gun to my head, I'd agree with the gun holder.

Wow terrific game, blechhawks hit the pipe several times, but Howard was magnificient. Was hoping that The Wings would score an empty-netter when baby bitchell started fighting near the end of the game, drawing a penalty and forcing them to bring the goalie back in the game.
