sergei vs Dats....I am not sure they are entirely the same type of player. Sergei probably the better offensive player more goal scoring touch but Dats is probably the best defensive forward of all time. Tough call. But Dats has better moves Sergei has more speed. Also Dats is a better team player.

If Konstantinov doent get in the car accident in '97 I think the Wings still repeat in '98 and maybe win one more in the '90s losing him was terrible. That guy was a great player. Similar to us losing Fisher in the mid 2000's he had just become the player we thought he could be and I saw him becoming great. We probably could have won another cup then too. But never will know.

Watching the post game interviews...a lot of Blackhawks, including Toews and Kane, bitching about non calls by the refs. Someone let these clowns know that Chicago had more power plays than Detroit before Chicago went all good squad at the end.

They have no right to bitch about refs. Toews push on Ericsson to setup a great chance, Franzen hit that led to their goal, elbow to Smith's head, I know I am missing more but those were 3 big no calls. The Wings played better and got under their skin, big plays by Howard doesn't hurt either.

Sergei in his prime was simply incredible. He had unbelievable speed and a booming shot.

Sergei also played amazing defense. That said, he never created for everyone else like Dats does. For me, Datsyuk is the better player of the two overall. I never sat in awe of Sergei like I do with Dats play. It's close, because Sergei was a top player and one of the best Wings of all time (though some might not want to believe it).

I love how the Wings have simply been pounding the Hawks but have been staying within themselves and not taking penalties. The Hawks could learn from the Wings. Their method of "being physical" basically means taking cheap shot slashes, elbows and boarding rather than just giving an extra legal check here and there.

No doubt the Hawks are deeper than the Wings, but the Wings have more than enough talent to win this series if Howard outplays Crawford and the Wings stars show up big.

Any coach that whines about goalie interference calls needs to shut the eff up. How many times did we get hosed on that same call when Homer was playing? We've lost probably 6 playoff goals over the past 4 or 5 years on that shit...not one goal in one game that wouldn't have made a difference anyway, Q...shut...the...eff...up....

I'm thrilled the winning goal was a PP goal too. That helps the entire psyche in the next game's PPs, not to mention Q was bitching about the penalties again. The Blackhaeks cage is rattled to the point it is on its last hinge, just hope no Wings get injured when Hawks revert to pure thuggery even more than they already have in this series.
