Royals @ Tigers game thread 7/7/12

Prince gets a 4 pitch walk.

DY hits one hard to the warning track in left field but it's caught.

Mudhen drives one to the gap in left center but Dyson got a great jump and ran it down.

Peralta K's swinging.

Dyson grounds out to second.

Gordon singles up the middle.

Escobar hits a high chopper to 2nd and Ramon runs over and steps on the bag himself to force Gordon out.

Hosmer flies out to AJ.

Doug w/ 70 pitches.

Ramon looks at the 1st 2 pitches and falls behind 0-2, then fouls off 4 straight pitches before doubling down the left field line. Great AB.

Laird draws a 5 pitch walk.

AJ singles to right. Bases loaded, no outs.

Berry K's.

Pitching change. Righty Adcock in to face Miggy. 3.12 era.

Miggy hitting .420 w em loaded in his career gets ahead in the count 2-0 and hits a sac fly to right field. Ramon scores. Laird is caught in a rundown trying to go to 3rd. Inning over. 6-2 Tigers.

its lovely how we specialize in getting as few runs as possible from bases loaded none out. loving the lead though.

Butler flies out to deep right and Mudhen makes another one of those nonchalant basket catches.

Bettancourt grounds out to short.

Moustakas homers to right. Mudhen leaps and gets his arm caught between the walls and loses his glove. That pretty much sums up his season.

Francoeur flies out to AJ.

Tigers lead is now 6-3.

Fister w/ 80 pitches.

Prince with a 5 pitch walk.

DY takes the 1st pitch right down the middle. Works the count to 2-2 and pops out to 1b in foul territory close to home plate.

Mudhen grounds into an easy DP but the relay throw was high. Replay shows he was still out but the ump ruled that one in our favor.

But Mudhen gets picked off at first from a throw by the catcher. Oh boy.

LOL...RR 0-3 and he gets picked off by the catcher.... Nice work so far just got back from Spiderman!!!!

Perez grounds out to short. Peralta charges and bobbles it up his arm and barely throws him out. First base ump calls him safe and out at the same time. He keeps shaking his head that he did that.

Dyson grounds out to short.

Gordon grounds out to 2nd.

123 inning for Mr. Fister. Now at 89 pitches.

Damn Youky with another homer for the sox... Wish DD could find that type of impact for the Tigers..

Peralta with a bad at bat. Chased strike 3 way out of the zone and K's.

Ramon batting left handed now. Falls behind 0-2, works it to a 2-2 count and then K's looking.

GMoney hits one to deep short but Escobar guns it off line to first and Hosmer can't scoop it. E6 is the ruling. Looked like Laird would have been safe anyways. Should be a hit.

AJ falls behind 0-2 and then flies out to right field.

Laird was given a hit.

Miguel Cabrera's first-inning strikeout was first time caught looking at called third strike since May 22. He had made 168 straight at-bats.

Jackson extended his hitting streak to a career-best 14 games, matches Fielder for longest by a Tigers player in 2012.

Chen vs Tigers, 3 year splits: 6.24 ERA, 10 G, 44 IP, 42 H, 24 BB, 33 k's.

Cabrera (70 RBI) and Fielder (60 RBI) form first Tigers duo with 60+ RBI before all-star break since Ordonez (70) and Guillen (67) in 2007.

Laird's RBI double in the second inning snapped a 15 at-bat hitless streak against lefthanded pitchers.

Leyland will bunt runners over so they might score, but he rarely bunts runners home from third when they WILL score if bunt executed.

Going to be a scoring change. Laird credited with an infield single.

Escobar with a 5 pitch walk. Leyland yanks Fister for Downs.

Hosmer K's on a pitch at his shoe tops. The home plate ump will not give the high strike today but he will call the low one.

Downs is yanked for Villareal.

Escobar steals second. No throw because Laird booted the pitch.

Butler singles...flares it over Paralta's head. Escobar held at 3rd. He should have been able to score but didn't read it correctly.

BV reaches 99 mph against Bettancourt. Bettancourt hits a sac fly to Berry in left. 6-4.

Coke sprinting in to face Moustakas now.

Moustakas hits .224 against lefties. Ump takes a foul pitch of his nuts. Coke K's him and makes him look bad.
