Russell Okung

Haven't paid attention to Russell Okung over the years. Besides the money is he injury prone or just not any good that might scare you away?

Injury prone. He's never played in 16 games in a season yet. He did play in 15 in 2012.

He wants elite money. Elite plays.

If he wants elite money you move on. Incentive and playing time bonus contract I am all good.

According to reports both he and Penn told their respective teams they would not sign for less than top dollar.

Neither is a "top dollar" guy in my opinion.

They are both smart to do that. It's sort of like quarterbacks in this league. If you can play left tackle there aren't tons of guys in the league who can do so. And it's a position that makes money. Very rarely are you going to see someone like that be underpaid.

I still hope they sign him. I just think it makes to much sense. I dont want a deal that kills our cap. We are now out from under cap hell with Suh and Calvin no longer here. I do think Quinn is a smart guy who understands things long term more than our previous GM's.

He's a fucking bandaid, Mitch. You know how you worry about Ngata being injured? Okung will not play 16 games in the NFL....he NEVER has. THAT is a legitimate concern if he signs with us. Especially at big money too....no thank you

If Quinn is smart, he wont pay him top dollar.

I'd pay Okung long before I'd pay Penn. And I'd pay him more. Penn is overrated.

Bookmark it all you want, you fkn putz. I never flip flopped on Ebron either. Tool

I don't want Ebron or Barr.

Ebron could be great, but his bust potential is greater in my eyes. I would be mad at this pick.
Barr is a situational passrusher in my eyes and would be better suited in a 3-4. There are a few LBs in the later rds who are more well rounded.
Give me Evans, Gilbert, Lewan or Donald at #10 if possible.

That being said, i'll root for any player they choose and try to get on board if i'm not happy..lol.

The man said he didn't want him, but would try to get on board if he was the pick.

Not sure you can call that a flip flop. It's not like tony has been all over the board calling him the greatest ever to play the position, or calling for his head... so to me, it looks like he "got on board".

"I would be mad at that pick." Did you miss that part? "But I'll get on board."

You're right Ink that is not the definition of a flip flop. That's the definition of a homer. Thanks for being the defender of the meek by the way.

It's actually "I would be mad at that pick" and again, he finishes with "That being said, i'll root for any player they choose and try to get on board if i'm not happy..lol." which is pretty consistent with what he has said since the pick.

Whats the point of having an opinion if your opinion is ultimately going to side with whatever the Lions chose to do. Yawn. Let me tell you what else the Homers are "going to get on board with" a fat contract for Okung in excess of $10M per year. If that happens that makes any animosity towards Okung in this thread irrelevant. If you think it's a bad move stick to your guns and be proven right or wrong.

Are you fucking retarded? I never wanted Ebron, you fucking toolbag lol. But im not going to continuosly bash the kid. He had a terrible rookie year....like EVERY TE has in the NFL. He improved in his 2nd year. He still needs to get better. Wtf dont you understand??? Lol

And you're the definition of a retard. I can either choose to get on board with a pick or be a complete jerkoff and bash the pick over and over again like you do. I choose to root for the kid no matter what. Does not make me a homer because i want the kid to succeed.
You're the dumbest motherfucker ever lol

Because thats my opinion of the kid. So i need to rip on the kid constantly in order to have an opinion? Go fuck yourself, buddy. Who the fuck are you to tell me what i need to say or not say? I didn't like the pick.....i wanted Lewan.....we picked Ebron.....i got on board with it, doesnt mean i liked it......i hope he improves his game because im a Lions fan.....unlike you, you root for this kid to fail because you're a straight up tard....thats not me. I want the kid to get better. Wheres the flip flop? Fucking idiot lol

Aren't you the one wanting Okung in Detroit btw? Lol. I would hate it if they gave this guy big money. He's not worth it in my eyes because of his health issues. If the man could stay healthy for 16 games then YES, he deserves a bigger deal. He hasn't proved that at all.....now go crawl in a fucking hole
