Steelers are out of the running according to PFT.
Giving Okung 13 million for a 1 year deal likely means we don't resign Slay or Ansah one ahead of their free agent season.
Likely, not guaranteed.
I'd pass.
You need to have current cap money to resign for future years?
Two sides to that question:
First, I seriously doubt Okung is willing to sign a one year deal.
Second, why would either Slay or Ansah re-sign early unless we pump up the cashflow a little up front?
Both of them stand to make a fortune in free agency, no reason to extend early before getting that taste unless it makes them a lot richer this season.
Stafford isn't going to suck
Based on what.. No different than saying Matt is going to suck, just a guess at this point. He was good, then he wasn't (3 1/2 years worth) then he was.
Based on what Cooter is doing for him, Stafford turned a corner last year, just took an OC that knew how to get the best out of him. Imo, we'll see the same guy that we saw down the stretch last year.
With Cooter they probably played the easiest 9 game stretch in sports history. In 5 years I haven't seen Matt have any consistent play against good teams on the road. Or at home for that matter.
I've said this before but stats don't lie.

It might have something to do with Matt not having a good defense or a good running game basically all of his career. If Matt could win games with his arm alone vs teams like Green Bay and Denver he'd be an all pro every year. Check the super bowl. That wasn't won by Peyton or cam.
