Shake up rumours

List is a joke... With only one 10-6 season to show for it... Give me a 6th round impact play like the Skins got this year at running back.. This year was a huge setback no matter what we all think as lions fans.. A 8 game losing streak are you kidding me... Time and time again the coaching staff boggled the mind and when they did finally do something right the players would fumble or Matt would throw a INT...Everything needs to get better ASAP including the draft selection... Start there.. No wait start with the whole damn coaching staff and back the truck up for either Cowher or Gruden... Team needs a head coach with something between the ears..

Could have used some support yesterday BOB! lol

ya 4 years worth of drafts and all you have to show for it is Chris Houston who is a FA and Sammie Lee Hill who is a back up. But these bafoons want to keep making excuses for Mayhew. Entire list is trash....

Between Mayhew and Millen, they think they are the smartest M'fers in the room. What year was it, that Millen drafted that dude from Hawaii in the 3rd round (Alma-Francis I think was his name), and then traded UP to get a special teams gunner from Boise State who 9/10 draft experts had no clue was? Mayhew keeps ignoring the team's problems on defense, and takes a stab at slot WRs, or trading up for an RB who had major concussion issues at Cal.

In all of my years of watching the Lions draft, I honestly could not name on one hand how many studs this team has found in the later rounds. They have NO idea how to evaluate talent. And they also do not value these picks. Giving away a 5th rounder for Mike Thomas?? What good did that do?

And does Mayhew live in a fucking bunker? I've never heard a single interview done on him with ANYBODY.

LOL thank you. I knew he actually was a person, I just didn't know he came out of the office.

The Lions can't even draft a serviceable running back at the level of Altie Taylor or Dexter Bussey.

No point in getting a running back unless he's a clone of Barry Sanders because we still have the same old tired offensive line trying to block for them.

there's that entire FACT about a team with average starting OL being of certain age not making the SB. as i recall the lions were at that number this past year and will surpass it next year unless they finally make at least one change and have Reiff start. but why would they look at something factual like that and pay attention to it? lions always march to a different drummer, no reason they would go heel to toe with this.

And why does Crayola still have a job. Reiff needs to be at LT, keep Sims. Get a new C, a new RG and move Backus to RT.

Why don't you look it up and get back to us? We should have at least 2 new starting lineman next year.

Stafford/Suh/Pettigrew have all been Pro Bowl or alternate selections.
Turnovers/Special teams play cost us 4 games
The team is better than 4-12, how much, idk...but we have serious issues in the secondary,
not good for a passing league

well it is also easy to pass vs a secondary that has to play tight to the line vs the run because guys like avril allow RBs to run by them, or even when he gets a hand on their jersey the RB drags him 10+ yards downfield.

i really have no issue with letting avril go, none whatsoever, but that does come with the knowledge the team will be very thin at DE. go hard after Osi in FA and draft a stud DE in R1 and this team suddenly has a DL that has potential to stop the run, allowing the safeties to play pass first instead of run first. get a solid safety in R2 and the D starts looking very good.

of course the OL is still shit, and doesn't look like much quality is available in FA, especially at the $ level the Lions can afford even after they restructure some contracts they won't be able to get those guys.

i love houston, but i know he wants $$$. do the lions try to roll with CBs acquired last year as cheaper options and roll that money into OL in FA?

so many options available, but i expect it will turn into Information Overload for Mayhew & Co so they would rather stay with what they have and try to find a way to pay the $$$ to the current roster as much as possible. no reason to try and shake things up a little, right? lol

As the old saying goes, it has to get worse before it gets better. I look at it as similar to the 2012 Detroit Tigers season. Granted they made it to the WS but during the season, they had lots of ups and lots of down. Because for every Verander and Cabrera they had a Raburn and Inge. A team with this many holes will never be a consistent winner.

And as another old saying goes, your record is what you are. This team could have won a couple more games, or they could have very well lost 3 of the 4 that they were pretty fortunate to get a W in.

I'll be honest, it would have felt a bit uncomfortable without another top 5 pick.

Lol they have to. They would surprise me by making an immediate move on ANYTHING but I expect everyone back. Hell, even titus with his rubbing it in the face tweet.

I just wanna see how the same bunch of coaches are gonna convince them that doing the same thing that netted them 4 wins this year is gonna turn them into a winning football team next year. They aren't firing anybody.

What did Titus say?

Ok!! ;) Whatever you say, bro!!

its fact.....go google it. were 4-12. he can say whatever he wants...the bottom line is we fucking blow and none of the upper management decisions panned out the way they wanted them to, none of the game management decisions worked out the way they wanted them to. Dude even puts a positive spin on a 5th round pick that gets cut the following season lmao. Im a realist....when all these decisions keep failing....someone should be held accountable.

Some people should just join their local church of Scientology and get it over with Hughes.

srsly i have more faith that the mormon church could sent tony and lkp to planet kolob than i do mayhew can fix this mess of a team.
