SI ranks all 32 starting QB's. Stafford ranked.......

Eli had 3,818 yards 18 TDs and 27 ints in 2013. He didn't get run out of town. They just got a new OC.

People will tend to give a pass to the QB of a team that won 2 SB in the prior 5 years. Detroit fans might give Stafford a break once he beats a winning team on the road...or a playoff game.

If Tier 1 has 15 QBs in it...yes...he is barely in Tier 1

Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Peyton Manning, Luck, Big Ben, Ryan, Rivers, Romo and Stafford. TIER 1

TIER 2 Flacco, Eli, Wilson, Tannehill, Carson Palmer

TIER 3 Kaep, Cam, Dalton,Cutler,Alex Smith

TIER 4 everyone else

Too soon to tell Bortles, Bridgewater, Derek Carr, Mariota, Winston

Stafford has had years just as good and better than Eli's 2007 and 2011 SB winning seasons. Stafford is a better QB than Eli.

I didn't say one was better than the other. I said fans will give you a pass when you accomplish something like leading your team to 2 SB victories. Stafford has not accomplished anything in his 6 seasons in Detroit!

LOL....you went to 10 QBs for your tier one.

Flacco and Wilson are both better than Stafford. Stafford is in with guys like Cam, Dalton, Eli, Tannehill, Palmer, Dalton....not with the guys you put him with. They are all superior to Stafford.

Stafford is just as good as the TIER 1 guys. He has carried the Lions in the past. He has the most go against him with injuries, protection (2014), drops, weapon fumbles lost, defense (2012/2013) and run support. And poor turnover support (2012/2013).

Stafford is solidly in TIER 1. And yes there are 10 TIER 1 QBS. The league is full of good QBs.

Stafford is better than Flacco and Wilson by far.

Stafford couldn't sniff Flacco's jock in the post season.

10-4 W-L most post season wins in the last decade
24-4 TD-INT
180 consecutive post season passes without an int
9 +95 plus passer rating post season games, most in the league including 6 straight
Super Bowl MVP

Protection, run game, defensive support, healthy weapons, no drops.

52%, 52% and 58%. That was Flacco's playoffs in 2012. Then 66% in SB.

Colts, Pats and Broncos defenses werent' that good in 2012.

Stafford could do just as well or better like Flacco did in 2012.

Flaccos' 2012 regular season. 22 TDs. Stafford just did that. Flacoo only had 3,800 yards. Stafford had 4,200.

Baltimore lost 4 of their last 5 games that season too.

Playoffs:
Rating: 117.2
Rush offense: 3.9 YPC
Defense: 22 PPG
Top 2 weapons: Boldin, Smith.

Protection, weapons like I said in Smith/Boldin/Pitta/Rice, no drops. TD pass instead of running it in.

Stafford has done this in the past. He had a 41 TD season which blew Flacco's 2012 season out of the water.

Stafford deserves something.
Healthy weapons
less drops
more protection
more run game
more weapon separation

He got a defense finally (due to health to top 3 secondary, Levy and Dline) and won 11.

They won two shootouts in 2012. Played 3 not so great defenses. Rahim Moore should have picked that ball off on the winner.

Stafford>Flacco.

Given the first year of the offense and the injuries our offense had

Stafford having 60% completion 22 TDS and 12 ints is the equivalent of 75% completion, 35 TDS and 6 ints.

Stafford had a 97 QB rating at NO. Neither of the picks were his fault.

Stafford had a 88 rating at Dallas. The pick wasn't his fault. And the refs took away a drive (non PI call) and gave Cowboys extra TOP due to allowing holding. Reiff missed a block when Stafford was leading another comeback.

Well what is Flaccos adjusted Playoff stats in 2012. They changes offense coordinator in December of 2012. That must equate to 95% completion. 18TD and Negative 5 interceptions.

Caldwell didn't change much mid-season. The defense was there 2 games, they got a lucky break with the Rahim Moore disaster. Flacco got more protection with McKinnie playing LT. He was protected very well.

Stafford can do that easily if he is protected. If Dallas scored 9 points too like Indy did, he would have moved on.

Flacco pressured 7 of 23 passes. 1 sack. 5.3 YPC. Indy scored 9
Flacco pressure 9 of 35 passes. 1 sack 4 YPC. Denver D sucked
Flacco pressured 8 of 37 passes. 2 sacks. Pats scored only 13
Flaccos pressured only 7 of 33 passes.

Stafford was pressured 16 times, against Dallas 3 sacks and 1 run. Detroit played 3rd string RG and RT. Dallas scored 24 points due to refs and Mathis injury.

Stafford is more impressive.

10 NFC players with make-or-break seasons ahead

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000502978/article/10-nfc-players-with-makeorbreak-seasons-ahead

7. Matthew Stafford, Lions quarterback

Stafford is a little different than the rest of this list. He's entrenched as a starting quarterback, and will be paid a ton of money for the next five years. It's not like the Lions are going to consider moving on from him. The inclusion here is more personal. After his down season in 2014, I'm starting to wonder if Stafford ever improves. Or is this just what he is? Ultimately Stafford is not at a level much different than what Jay Cutler has brought to the table for years, and that gets more frustrating as time wears on.

That article is meaningless. It's a terrible misinformed opinion by them.

Stafford moves the ball, scores more and is not a turnover machine. Cutler is a turnover machine on less attempts.
