Make no apologies. He betters our chances to win.

Caldwell has the perfect mixture of personality, morality, and compassion to pull this off...to the betterment of RR and the Lions. Detroit is THE city of second chances.

Your thoughts?

pass, Its not the running backs to blame for the terrible ground game it's the offense line, rice would be no better than anyone else we already have jmo

Im happy moving forward with Bell and Riddick this year. Maybe pick up a back in the later rounds of the draft.

Yes it's honestly less to do with the scandal, but moreso that Rice was pretty terrible last year in Baltimore (I know, I had him in fantasy lol). I doubt he gets much better behind this Oline.

Pass.

The reason......he isn't much better than Bell is and comes with a massive amount of baggage.

On a positive note, he could left hook Dom when he steps out of line......he ain't afraid to hit a bitch!

Rice was bad last year when Baltimore had a bad O-line and I'm not sure ours is much better currently. I like Joique and Riddick, plus we still have Bush, so it doesn't make any sense to me to sign Rice.

If it was AP, deal! I just don't see dropping one of our current RBs or other players for Rice.

I'm so tired of hearing about people wanting rice. He's not that good and even when he was considered good his numbers weren't anything staggering on a team that ran a lot and had a good Oline. People act like this dude was one of the best in the game. He was a better than average all around back. Keyword:was

Anyone wanting Rice shows how little football knowledge they have. I would bet money that 99% of the people that want Rice are extremely casual Lions fans.

You are right there. I'm part of a group on Facebook and i swear they are all clamoring for him. they don't understand football and they don't follow the game like we do here. i just hate when fans here a former big name and think because we are the Lions we should throw money at them. If it's not a problem area don't fix it. If it was AP available to a contender at very minimum is say sure, good bye George winn but not a ray rice that has never been the best. Why could it be an olineman coming back lol. We need some of them.

The funny thing about bad PR is that it only lasts until you win a championship. And that's because it's no one other than YOUR fans you are marketing to. Bring home a title, and all transgressions are forgiven.

So I would never be afraid, if I were an owner or GM, of signing a high quality player with a bad PR hit.

That having been said, Rice does not qualify. He was completely ineffective before sitting out the majority of a season. If he was the Ray Rice of 2012, sure. But he's not, and he hasn't proven he can be again.

The Ray Rice of 2013 was a bum, and a year of rust isn't likely to help that. Even if he's in the best shape of his life, there is nothing to suggest his heart is there, or his will.

Pass.

why would he even want to return to the ocord that turned him into a piece of shit? Unless we were like the only team to give him an offer....
