SOL or NIL?

They are not great...they are an above average team that barely beats shitty teams. They have a good record and are pretty much a lock to make the playoffs. We shall see what kind of team they are when / if they make the playoffs. My guess is they win one game if it is at home but lose the first road game they play.

They are a great team that is clutch, plays great defense and has an explosive offense. They are going far in the post-season. Just watch. I'll be right for the millionth time this year.

do us all a favor and go away

Nope I owned you. You have nothing. Go cheer for the Bears like you know you want too.

you have owned nobody. The Lions have a good record but they are not a "great team" & They do not have an "explosive offense"

They are winning close games which they have not done in the past. That is a good thing. The problem is they are winning close games vs. shitty opponents. Once they get to the playoffs they will be playing good teams. The defense will have to continue to play well and the offense will need to play better for them to have any success in the playoffs.

They're a good team. A team built around their defense and when they need points, the offense seems to step up when needed. They can come from behind or take a commanding lead. They struggle at times, but persevere. Guys get hurt?? Next man up...

All signs of a "good" football team

Why is it a problem when they beat a supposedly shitty team? In your eyes anyways? A win is a motherfucking win...no matter how you slice it. This isn't college fucking football where you have to drop 60 on an opponent to gain respect. This is the NFL where you can't take teams for granted. #anygivensunday

They are a good team....you are what your record is.

We also have 1 win vs teams with a winning record....1. On the other hand, 3 of our loses have come to teams with winning records. That doesn't bode well for our playoff hopes. Throw in the fact we play bad teams close.....we are a good team that is very close to being a bad team lol. For me that equates to Same ol Lions that has had the ball bounce their way a few more times than the previous versions.

It's not a problem, Tony. Better than the alternative. But you still have to look at who you beat and who you lost too. No, it's not their fault for the schedule and who decided to be bad and anything could happen in the playoffs, but outside of the under .500 division I'm not sure I'd pick them to win against anyone else..

Like i said, Any Given Sunday. This team can make some noise with this DEFENSE

if the playoffs were filled with teams with below .500 records than id agree with you. But the fact remains we have 1 win vs teams with a winning record this year. And recent evidence would suggest we get smoked vs teams with winning records.

But it is a problem according to TommyD lol.

And for the record, the "experts" had this team winning around 6-8 games maybe. They have shattered that call. And now they're in line to WIN the DIVISION. Still no respect from half you fucks..lol. Hilarious!! Our wins are lucky, shitty opponents, balls bouncing our way ..it's never anything positive. There's always a but or an if followed after a win. It's pathetic...

And who in the NFC scares you? They have already beat the Packers, barely lost to the Cardinals, Eagles and the Cowboys are sketchy. Don't even talk about the South. Maybe the Seahawks?? I have faith they can go far in the playoffs.......why not us?

Lions look like they may just be benefactors of an easy schedule, let's hope not. I don't know how much faith I have in this team winning in the playoffs without a home game.

If the lions could get that offense going I'd really like thier chances in the playoffs, absent an offense in spite of the great D I can't see them getting far...its a cryin lion shame what jim and Joe turned the offense into such mediocrity

This isn't the same ol' Lions who are so terrible that the regular season is more about scouting the next draft than having fun on Sunday. They aren't really new and improved seeing as the team won 11 games 3 years ago and went to the playoffs then as well. Just last year the team was a very average 7-9. I don't think this team is particularly better than that team (this defense is miles better than last year, this offense is about equally worse).

I'm just rolling with it. I would rather have an average team with a soft schedule than the garbage I've lived through as a fan already. This team has a legit shot to hold a bye in the first round! Crazy. And even if I think they'll get beat in the playoffs it doesn't matter. Just having a team to root for in January is an awesome feeling.

Well I'm worried about playing on the road. Though I'm not worried about Arizona, with Drew Stanton. I mean I think we'd be under dogs but possible maybe..Philly gets Foles back, so they become a bit scary..Seattle scares the fk out of me at their place, GB in GB. Maybe Romo pulls a Romo.

I used to be "any given Sunday/Playoffs are a new season.." guy but lately I'm a "history has shown we can't win in playoffs/Matt can't beat .500+ teams on the road.." guy. I hate it to but I can't help it..

By Lions historical standards, this team is in the top 10 since their last NFL championship. They could be top 5 IF they can win on the road in late December. Fortunately this has been a somewhat milder than usual late fall in the Midwest, and going into Soldier and Lambeau may not be as brutal weather-wise than it could be. It is my firm belief that the franchise could have been more successful if they would have played home games in venue(s) exposed to the elements rather than @ the Silverdome and Ford Field.

I think this team is different from the last playoff team. They started that year 5-0 and then Best got hurt and they went 5-6 the rest of the way to finish 10-6. They hung on to make the playoffs. This team missed CJ for several games and Bush has been useless yet they still continued to win.

IF, if they win in late December on the road. And I'm sure if they do some of us will come around a bit..but the problem is they haven't. Suffice it to say all of us can't wait until we win in GB. Been way too long..

Last victory at Lambeau was same year Lions last one a playoff game. Break that streak and there is no way to not lean toward NIL even if they should lose their playoff game. End that streak, free themselves from the mental block, build confidence, create new identity... and lay the foundation for a better future.
