Spring Training

The sudden use of punctuation and complete sentences is what led me to think they weren't the same but I can definitely see where the rhetoric would make someone think that. I'm on the fence.

My guess he is some type of bot created by the government who lives in the matrix.

I am drinking A & W root beer. It has that frosty mug taste.

Did anyone notice I took DD 's picture off my profile and replaced with Johnny Morton getting Knocked out in a fight.

Lets lighten up guys baseball season is back. Lets concentrate on spring training

Best news I've heard all year so far.

http://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2016/02/22/victor-martinez-detroit-tigers/80749618/

On this sunny, 70-degree morning, Victor Martinez was in the shade. He was in the batting cages, hitting, sweating and smiling.

“Yeah, I can tell the difference,” he said. “Yeah, I can tell the difference,” he said again.

“It’s way different than last year, for sure,” Martinez said. “What is the difference? I can swing now. That’s the difference.”

the good news...he CAN'T be worse than last year.

Now we just have to hope he doesn't injure it again, I am choosing to be optimistic for the time being

Me too. I don't expect vintage V-Mart but I think he will hit .280, OBP around .350 and HRs in the high teens. He just needs to stay healthy.

There be a many that think the Cubs are this season's WS champ. I remember in 84 when the Tigers was everyone's choice. How ever I'm not sold on the Cubs for a few reasons. One my NL club is the Cards, and I'm sure they want to win their Division again. The Bucks are far from finished as well.

MLB has said. Including the Cubs. Teams that need to get it going , 227,000,000+ Dodgers, The Nats have shelled out the money, and under performed. Were there big three.

But really looking at the money the Yank, Red Sox, Giants (even year; Hey Cubs beware), and Tigers. Really need to get into and win the series.
As most of us have seen the money can get you to the playoffs. But it really does not all ways get the prize.
But age is getting to the Tigers so they better get it done soon, like this season. IMO they have made some good moves. But a couple have been questionable. With the people still available think the Tigers could have done a little better with some of there choices?

I don't care about how many HR's he hits. I would just like to see the clutch hitting again, and of course, his ability to draw more walks than he strikes out.

Tigers sign 33-yr old Casey McGehee to minor league contract.

Last 3 years Away

.262 BAVG .324 OBP .332 SLG .656 OPS

Career Away

.257 BAVG .310 OBP .382 SLG .696 OPS

Slightly below average defensively.

McGehee gives the team a major league-ready option should starting third baseman Nick Castellanos go down with an injury, especially after trading Jefry Marte this off-season.

MEH..organizational fodder at this point.

I hope Miggy is telling the truth about being in good condition. As a 40-something myself, I know how my physical condition has affected my athleticism. Miggy needs to be in better shape to be able to produce at an all star level throughout the rest of his contract.

I love watching the guy play. I would hate to dislike the guy being a Tiger the last couple of years of his contract because he can't play due to his physical condition. Until then I will enjoy watching him wear the Olde English D.

Miggy has looked a lot more fit the past few years. I'm sure he'll be fine. Hell, even if he showed up looking like Babe Ruth, Prince Fielder, Bartolo Colon, or Pablo Sandoval, he'd probably still put up MVP caliber numbers. He's just ridiculously talented and a really smart baseball player. That said, like you, I'd prefer him not to be a fat slob. LOL!

Chris Iott (Mlive) reports:

Been told Anibal Sanchez is not working out fully. Will be checked out for undisclosed physical issue. Looking into it further.

Some sort of "Tricep Inflamation." Ausmus: ?It doesn?t seem to be anything concerning.? Source: Jason Beck. He will not throw until Monday.

Anibal Sanchez has inflammation in his lower right triceps, according to Tigers manager Brad Ausmus.

Sanchez: “I’m good. I just got an MRI. It’s inflammation. No big deal.”

Ausmus doesn't think Sanchez issue is concerning. "But I guess you're always cringing when it involves one of your starting pitchers. Source: Chris Iott.
