Stafford

Stafford played well. You look at overall. 3 TDs is a great day, not every pick was his fault due to pressure and Calvins hands. Same with the Giants game, some crucial third down plays and big throws. Yet you only look at one play. A play off Faurias hands in tight coverage where the safety was lucky to pick it off.

Stafford is a very good QB. We are lucky to have him. He is the biggest reason we should win most games. And not the reason we lose.

Nobody but you feel that Stafford played well in thee Giants game.

From ESPN article on the NYG game.

"Manning was 23 of 42 for 256 yards with a TD pass to Jernigan -- his first career score -- and an NFL-high 26th interception.

Matthew Stafford was worse: 25 of 42 for 222 yards and two interceptions, the second was returned by Will Hill for a TD that tied it at 20 with 4:57 left in the lackluster game.

Stafford threw high and wide of 6-foot-7 tight end Joseph Fauria, who had to leap just to get his hands on the errant pass.

There's no other word to describe his performance vs the Giants other than horrible. That's what it was. End of discussion.

He made more plays than you think. Holding took away big play and gave him an extra int. Fumble by Bush and a sack killed a drive each.

Second half 17 points (some Ross though) and he did his job in OT, Dickerson did not.

And Fauria should have caught it or got better separation.

QBs job is to make throws to wide open players, while in a clean pocket, and have them get a lot of YAC.

If there is any kind of adversity the QB should have no responsibility to make a play. Every other player in the field is suppose to overcome the challenges and make the QBs job easy. It's not reasonable to ever expect a QB to make a throw into tight coverage, while facing pressure, or need to throw it more than 10 yards in the air.

Stafford makes great throws most of the time. Even in adversity. Separation will be much better this year. Drops and fumbles you can't blame Stafford.

Stafford is the reason the Lions should have won 12-13 games last year. No matter what he did against the Giants, Stafford is a playoff caliber QB who can carry us to the Super Bowl.

Least believable troll ever.

It is painfully obvious that he can not CARRY this team anywhere but mediocrity. If he were able to CARRY the team to the SB he would have done it. Carrying a team means winning with lack of separation, drops and fumbles.

No usually QBs get a couple things. Fumbles, separation, drops, 4th Quarter defensive breakdwons, some run game for 6 games, injuries, lack of turnovers all went against him. Everything is against him. Stafford has the most to do out of any QB in the entire league and it's not even close. And Stafford is very very very productive even without much help.

Give Stafford one thing out of that list and we're a playoff team last year and this year.

Give Stafford 30+ turnovers and he is elite 40 TD guy.

You said carry them to a Super Bowl. To carry a team you win despite the shortcomings elsewhere on the team. He can't carry a team. He needs everything to go right for them to win.

He needs one thing to go right. He can carry a team. No QBs can carry a team when drops, fumbles, defensive turnovers, defensive holding leads and 6 bad run games happen. None. Peyton Manning would go 4-12 at best in that scenario.

Peyton Manning would have taken this team to the playoffs. That's a fact.

Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers would have taken this team to the playoffs.
Hell, I think Andrew Luck would have also. That guy is a real QB. He leads, he makes plays.

So what you are saying is Stafford took this team to a 7-9 record with those things happening and Peyton Manning would only have been 4-12?

last year....over 1/2 of the QBs in the league would have been able to win the division. Shit, Stafford should have been able to as well but he couldn't close the deal.

I had no clue Josh McCown had 13 TDS/1 INT. I would rather have him.

Forgot about Rivers, Romo, Kapernick, Ryan, Smith, Newton. Those guys all had better seasons last year.

They had more support but not many had better seasons than Stafford. 4th ranked passer in PFF for a reason.

All QBs go 7-9 or worse with us last year.

Big year for Stafford. 40 TDs, low double digit ints, 5000 yards and great completion %. The weapons are here, dangerous and healthy. The team finally caught up to the greatness of Stafford.
