Stafford

Yup. It is still preseason, but I like the way the OC is calling things thus far. Having CJ in there is another wrinkle we haven't seen yet.

Like you said it's just preseason but the fact they are moving the ball and scoring without cj is a good thing. Even without cj if the offense was stagnant Hughes would-be bitching about the offense and us paying too much for an underachieving Stafford

Looks good..but defenses are vanilla in preseason, too. Really won't know until real bullets are flying, and still it could very well take more than a few weeks into the season.

And that's a vanilla Raiders defense..

no shit? you wouldn't? the team has 1st round picks at almost every position on the offense lol (multiple firt round picks at TE! lol)...and you wouldn't bitch if Stafford couldn't move the ball? the offense sucked ass last year....that's on Stafford. If he improves this year....good for him...itd be about damn time considering hes being paid like peyton frikken manning and playing like ryan tannehill.

So far so good. Glad to see Stafford do a little something without Calvin being out there. We could have very well swept the pack if he didn't shit the bed in the first matchup. I just hope they keep making good progress

This is mainly why I don't give a shit about the preseason. Aside from 3rd stringers fighting for bench space, it's pointless. Two games should be enough, right?

Stafford played great. We couldn't run the ball Week 5 and the Oline sucked that day (5 sacks allowed). Burleson was out that day too. Stafford +1.2 grade that day. Unforutnately the rest of the offense sucked.

He had a 92 rating in the games without Calvin last year. He was the only one making plays.

Absolutely. I thought Goodell was fighting for an 18 game season. I guess the player union balked..

The offense didn't suck. And it wasn't on Stafford when it did. It was on fumbles, drops, lack of separation, lack of run game for 6 gamesn and pass pro issues (2 games).

So basically under your criteria:

Offense is moving- Stafford gets credit
Offense struggles- Not Stafford's fault.

That's fair.

Stafford and others get credit too.

It wasn't Staffords fault it was struggling. He was the only one making plays most of the time.

Dammit I hate you. You're the worst poster here.

There is no way you even watched any of the Lions last 9 games. None.

Ok LKP Giants game Stafford throws a pick 6 and we lose the game. He throws that ball away we punt and our D had been stopping them all game. Chances are we win that game no problem. Please explain how Stafford didn't cost us that game

If it weren't for Stafford throwing those TDs for TB and NYG those teams wouldn't have won vs. the Lions. Stafford was the MVP for those two teams in those games. I mean...TB only had 229 total yards...they would have been blown out if it weren't for the pick six and the other 3 INTs. NYG only had 279 yards of offense...they would have been done without Stafford's 2 ints including the Pick 6 with just under 5 minutes left in the game. I wonder if they gave him the game balls?

Stafford first pick wasn't his fault against Giants nor was the last pick against Tampa. Stafford is the reason we had 21 points against Tampa with 3 TDs.

And Stafford made a ton of plays against the Giants too for a nice second half and based on the plays should have had more than 3 in the first (Bush fumble, sack, bogus holding call on a big completion before the Tuck pick). Pressure on some of the picks too against Tampa. And he had to go outside due to coverage on the second int against the Giants.

Stafford is the biggest reason we should have won 12-13 games last year. Other weapons problems (drops, separation, fumbles), injuries leading to big plays allowed, penalties and some defensive breakdownns for big plays is the reason we only won 7.

If you start your house on fire and go back inside to save your dog....you are not the hero. Stafford started the house on fire in those two games with game changing terrible plays. He does not get any credit....especially since the dog died in the fire he started!

"Pressure on some of the picks against Tampa."

Welcome to the NFL. Quarterbacks actually have to deal with pressure.

Stafford played well. You look at overall. 3 TDs is a great day, not every pick was his fault due to pressure and Calvins hands. Same with the Giants game, some crucial third down plays and big throws. Yet you only look at one play. A play off Faurias hands in tight coverage where the safety was lucky to pick it off.

Stafford is a very good QB. We are lucky to have him. He is the biggest reason we should win most games. And not the reason we lose.

And it causes most of the ints in this league. Pressure lessens the fault of the Qb.

It sure as hell does not. The best QBs know how to deal with pressure. That's why they are the best.

I don't know a single person that I've listened to or come across EVER utter the phrase, "That INT was not his fault, pressure caused it." That's so ridiculous and you know it.
