Stafford

Sarcastic. Your boy LKP is getting a bit ridiculous. To suggest that any other QB would have finished 7-9 with the Lions is asinine.

They're lazerbeams...out of his ass. If he can't be accurate with a ball out of his hand what do you think?

Since LKP never answered my direct question to him on another thread, I have to go along with the rest of you and just assume this guy is trolling. And trolling just means posting to get a reaction, and for no other reason.

Sure Stafford will get 40 TDs, 5000 yds, and low ints this year. When he doesn't it will be everyone elses fault and we will continue to have this never ending discussion with him. Definitely smart how he's setting up his gimmick to last for the rest of the season with this one.

2013- 2nd in fewest sacks allowed
2012- 9th in fewest sacks allowed
2011- 17th in sacks (worst season among this list)
2010- 6th in fewest sacks allowed

I don't buy for a second that he's been "taking a beating." I don't think Stafford has ever had a problem throwing the ball that much. In fact, I recall quotes of him saying he enjoys it and trusts that he won't break down.

As for the mechanics, footwork, whatever. He's had those same problems since he played at Georgia. Unless it's been coincidence that he's had the same horrible tutilege for close to a decade, I raise my eyebrow at that stuff too.

If he has an insanely consistent year throwing the ball with very few wtf throws, can you argue that coaching was not part of the problem? I'm not putting it all on coaching, just stating that the former coaching staff was inept at developing a qb that had mechanical flaws.

He had one of those years with Gym Shorts..just sayin'

I'll congratulate the coaching staff when we win playoff games, because this team is more than just Stafford.

Throwing 16 ints doesn't classify as a consistent year in my book. Multiple games with no ints, and not averaging an int per game would though.

But you can't deny he had a very good year. When you throw that much he's going to throw INT. He's not Tom Brady. He's a Gun Slinger, like Brett Favre. Look at his INT totals.

It was a great year, a breakthrough year. The gunslinger game in and game out role will hopefully be toned down a bit with the new staff.

Need to look at his rate stats, and not just the counting stats. It's not how many total interceptions he's thrown...it's how many attempted passes did it take to get those interceptions? More throws inevitably lead to more interceptions. Same thing with yards and TDs. It's not a huge accomplishment to throw for 5000 yards when you set a record for passes attempted to do it.

As the saying goes "you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country of the girl" or something along those lines.

Stafford by nature is a gun slinger..that won't change.
