Stupid Lions supposedly want Gase

No, I want a real GM and coach for once in my lifetime. Cower would be great but he ain't coming here without Kahn. Tom Coughlin would be a great choice and the players would be pissed off on his arrival because he doesn't take any crap. GM and scouting is huge for developing a winning organization, we have never had that in my lifetime either. My guess is that the Lions will run with what they have in place now.

Lol. How the fuck do you know that the Lions players would be pissed at a Tom Coughlin hiring? Who the fuck are you to make an assumption like that?

Listen to his ex players and they say he is a tough SOB. He is not a players coach like Caldwell is. He is not adored by the players but respected. I seen a special on him on the NFL network.

I know he's a tough SOB, but you don't know that the Lions would be pissed if he came there. Besides, CJ gave huge props to Caldwell.

Coughlin, if available, would be a nice hire. Caldwell is a players coach, Shorts was an idiot. Maybe we need a tough SOB.

I wouldn't mind a Coughlin hire at all. Don't forget, old boy slipped up a few times this year. Age may be catching up to that SOB lol

You don't luck your way into two Super Bowl wins. He's getting long in the tooth but I couldn't be mad at that hire even if I didn't think he was the right guy.

Exactly my point, players love him and TC is totally the opposite. They may have to work a little harder and be a little more accountable. God forbid that happens.

Work harder? Complete bullshit. I have nothing against Coughlin, but Caldwell isn't a pushover either.

Well, according to some ex players, this team lacked work effort and certain players were given a pass.

I'm curious who those ex-players are. They'd say anything. And from watching the NFL for a long time, players these days don't want to work hard (majority). It's the reason why you can't practice as much.

What team? The Lions or the Colts? Because when Mosely decided he want to get high in England, he was sent home packing. And he was a big part of that DLine.
As for work effort....what players said that?

Jimmy Johnson gave certain players a pass...what a players coach he must have been.

I would think for Caldwell's sake, assuming he gets let go he would want to be gone sooner rather than later. If a GM takes two weeks to hire, Caldwell gets a slow start to get in with another team.

Caldwell will be back

I think you are right. I said it in one of the threads when they were 1-7. Looking ahead at the schedule I thought they could end up going 7-9 and the fans and organization would think they turned it around...when in reality they just played the easy part of their schedule.

This team is nothing more than a .500 team with an average QB and mediocre head coach. Most likely, they won't make many changes and they will be the same next year.

Still have to get a GM that is okay with Caldwell. Still unlikely.

It's the Lions...because they like Caldwell they will look for a GM that is willing to let him stay which will probably mean they will hire the wrong guy!

They could get the best GM in the world but if Caldwell stays "Detroit, we have a problem."
