Suh All-Pro

Packers last td drive lacy had two no gains then a two yard run.

Last two drives they didn't run well either and gave lions a chance

We stopped them after first drive running.

It was average day for Green Bay. Unlikely lions run d would play that way again. Romo won't do what rodgers did either. No punt return td. Lions can easily win this

Who gives a fk we lost. If we lose tomorrow it's still a fn lost.

Fair enough. Bringing up the Lions past record may be negative and out of context. Those aren't the same team. What about Matt Stafford's record? Is it out of context? Is it negative to factually state the record of quarterback who is starting for us TOMORROW? Should we not bring it up? Pretend it's not true or say it has no berring? That makes us LKP? OK.

Pointing out legitimate faults is not negative.

Why is a QB's record any more important than anyone else's in a TEAM sport?

Calvin Johnson was here for the 0-16 season, which means his record is even worse than Stafford's against team with winning records.

How many games, on the road, has Suh won when Stafford didn't?

How many of us wanted Sammy Watkins before the draft? Or Odell Beckham Jr? Why?

Because we knew we needed a receiver, and we've known for a long time we had jack and shit opposite Calvin.

But suddenly Stafford's record is just his. Not the lack of receiving option he was saddled with. Not the piss poor defensive play of the last several years.

When we lost 44-41 to the Titans a few years back.. was that lack of offense?
Or 24-20 to the Packers?
26-24 Bears?
24-27 to the Benegals?

Without going on forever... how many of those road losses against teams with a winning record were shootouts, or solid offensive efforts, with less talent, and the defense coughed it up?

Four losses this year on road. Other than cards game, did the defense do its job those games?

whitehead....really? his claim to fame was a 10 tackle performance in a preseason game. We used 3 picks for that...

Last I checked Whitehead has started 13 games at MLB for the #2 defense in the NFL!
I'd say that's a lot more impressive than some preseason game. Turned out to be a pretty good pick by Mayhew after all, despite all the bashing that this board has given it. Good example of a player being developed.

mathis - youre giving mayhew credit for having a cheap 40 yr old corner? wow

What's this supposed to mean? How much better can it get? He's signed for the veteran minimum and has been solid this year. I'd call that a good job by Mayhew or whatever front office guy you want to give credit to.

G Johnson - good job picking up a part time rotational player that rotates in behind the worst DE in the history of the NFL. Not sure how other GMS don't pick up rotational situational guys to play DE....its almost a no brainer.

Johnson is also paid the veteran minimum and has contributed 6 sacks and 29 tackles this year. I'd say that's a great bargain found by Mayhew.

Every team with a bye week has a championship caliber quarterback. Coincidence? While games are going to vary the great equalizer is a great quarterback. It's the most important position. It just is. While you can win without great QB play it's more the exception than the rule. Do all those teams have great defense?

Throw out Stafford's record before 2011. He's still 0 for against winning teams on the road and 3-20 or so all time. Why do you think guys like Andrew Luck take a two win team and bring them to the playoffs every year? Do you think the Colts have a great defense?

Oh and lack of a second option? What's Tate? His record is the same this year! 0 wins against quality road opponents!

And you want to talk about defense? This year the defense has been great! Yet the record is the same against quality opponents. How many of Stafford's wins against winning opponents are credited to the defense? One this year 19-7! The defense this year is making Stafford look better than he is!

Wow, I was really thinking football was a team sport.. but your argument really swayed me there.

You're right, Stafford needs to throw better, catch better, run better, tackle better, kick better....

If Stafford has a career day tomorrow - chances are we win. You can't say that for any other player or position to the same degree. Of course the team has to play well. But like a pitcher in baseball or goalie in hockey - QB is the most impactful position in the sport. With great play in all three examples you can win despite the failings of the rest of the team.stafford doesn't have to do all those things himself - but he does have to be better. Not negative or positive, just a fact.

One and done is a success to Lions fans only. You think any of the other teams in the playoffs will consider their season a success with a loss? Maybe the 7 win Panthers or the Lindley lead Cards?

If Dallas is a very talented team that was put together by a senile permadrunk oil tycoon what does that say about our talent evaluator. Throw in if we get get out scored by a guy we fired because of our pathetic offense can't keep up and I can't speak for Hughes but personally I'll be hugely disappointed. If this season is a success we should expect a win tomorrow, we should be better than Dallas. We should expect more than one and done .

Losing is never a success. Going 11-5 is a step in the right direction and they need to build on that starting tomorrow. Don't you dare lump in all Lions fans thinking 1 and done is successful. Shame on you...

Because blaming the QB is the easy way out. For losses, wins, knocking broads up ....whatever. It is and always will be the easy way out. It's frusturating...

U guys are nuts if you think this is a team sport and quality qbs dont mean anything. Absolutely off your rockers. Yes you can win a championship with a top 20 qb..and we barely have a top 20 qb. Other facets have to play extremely well for it to happen. Our d has been great against one of the weaker schedules in the league. They'll have to do the same vs quality competition. ...something they've shown they cant do more often than not.

I'm curious.. Who said QBs don't mean anything?

And you're absolutely nuts if you think it's all on the QB. Go explain that to Dan Marino, who never had a complete team around him and retired without a ring as a result.

Yes, it's a QB league. But even more than that, it's a league that takes every gear turning to win titles... Not just one gear.

You guys can blame Stafford all you want, but it's not on his shoulders alone. I just don't hear anyone else screaming to trade Calvin or Suh or Levy. No, it's all one guys fault.

I would if those guys sucked.

How many playoff games did Marino win? Now how about Matt? Can't put them in the same category. Obviously you know all the other differences between the two. Matt gets a lot of blame because he's one of worse on this team..and he controls quite a bit, you know the one who has his hands in every play? He just misses so many open throws. His consistency just blows..

The 3 you listed are pretty good, of course you know this. You're using LKP logic..

Never said QBs don't mean anything. Just said the QB shouldn't shoulder all the blame or success.

Who says it's all on Matt? Saying Matt sucked or we need a new QB is not putting the all the blame on him. Just stating opinion. He's just the head of the parade..
