Suh and Calvin, the most feared players in the NFL

Lions haver plenty of players on decent sized contracts and we draft every year getting cheap rookies for 4 years. We can have these 3 best players make a ton and still field a deep Super Bowl team. The question is is tulloch levy Quin bush jones rob sims Delmas and Houston. Are these the right guys for these mid tier contracts. That has nothing to do with the big 3. Are they the right support players. Are we drafting well with contributors. Again nothing to do with big 3. Guys get drafted regardless. When we lose avril and gosder do we replace them. Waddle and Ansah/young. I say we did. Can we get good cheap vets. Mathis Raiola mosely yep. What's the problem. Nothing. Open your eyes the big 3 percentage isn't the perceived depth problem. If we lose young pettigrew or hill we can easily replace them.

Delmas and burleson gone. Draft a wr and safety. Wr was a need anyway. Some don't even like Delmas. That is 11 million in room changing who gets the mid tier contact

Lol, back it up by finding a super bowl champ with top 3 over 30 since cap era started. Sure the rookie cap helps skew possibility, but until proven otherwise, this is equal to OL average age. It might not fit your preferred stats that you wrap around you like a blanket, but they are nonetheless a glaring issue until proven otherwise.

You are guessing but it's cool. Having the right big tier guys matter. Replacing people is key as everyone loses players. And the draft happens every year. Draft. Well and you can say fuck off to free agency

Obviously having 3 large contracts can make free agency more difficult, but if the players with the 3 large contracts play very well, it won't be a problem. LKP has provided plenty of examples of how the Lions have been able to sign solid additions to the team the last few years despite having the 3 large contracts. It all comes down to the draft. If we draft poorly, then you probably will be correct, it wouldn't be possible to field a deep team. But if we draft well, there's no reason we can't field a competitive and deep team.

The problem with this lkp, we need to draft better. 2013, not bad. Before that too many high picks, position for starters that at best end up being rarely used backups.

2013 was great. 2012 was not bad with Reiff, Bentley, Greenwood and Green. 2011 really only Fairley to show for it unfortunately. As long as we don't have another 2011, we'll be fine. 2010 with Suh, Willie Young and the trade for Rob Sims, that's solid no matter the Best, Jason Fox and Spievey issues.

3 players a year out of 6 or 7 will do the trick. And each of these players on a cheap rookie deal for 4 years. We are talking 2018 for the 2014 class. 2017 for the guys last year.

Avril, Sammie Lee Hill, Durant and Gosder already replaced pretty well with Ansah/Taylro, Mosely, Palmer and Waddle. Who are the guys this year, Burleson, Delmas, Young, Raiola, Pettigrew, Shaun Hill. We won't lose all of them. Plus will have space losing Delmas and Burleson to get other mid tier contracts.
