The Official Indiana vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

Maybe he didn't want to make a scene at that moment, but he clearly knew IU was being a pack of assholes, since he told his players not to retaliate.

very chippy game on both sides...especially on the lines. I think Chase may have started it all when he pulled a Suh and stomped on the leg of an O-lineman.

Not sure that justified some of the other crap IU pulled (especially the shot on Edwards), but maybe I missed some things.

the shot on Edwards was a typical helmet to helmet hit that looked much worse because of the end result.

In the post game, Harbaugh gave a shoutout to DeBord for his game plan, but beyond that kept his remarks pretty bland, as per usual, and didn't mention anyone else by name.

also, as per usual, I felt like he was only saying 1% of all the things he wanted to say, but couldn't. no sense causing distractions during OSU week.

it was totally unnecessary. he wasn't even trying to tackle the ball carrier, just to hurt someone.

they have had the advantage (and will again for the next two seasons) of being the week before OSU. I think our "just survive this week" mentality won't continue next year... unless... after a year we kinda forget about all this and are again playing for a playoff berth, in which case, we'll probably just want to survive the IU game again next year.

I agree that it was totally unnecessary...most of the big hits guys put on just to "blow them up" are unnecessary...but I see them in almost every game I watch...especially on kick offs and punt returns. Although I think it makes the game more boring, I like the new fair catch rule on kickoffs.

The powers-that-be clearly love trying to set traps for Michigan.

It's always going to be a trap game for both teams.

in the end... IU still just isn't good.

For all the noise they make, their best season this century is still just 7-6, and they've only done that once since 2000.

They're at least not a Doormat's Doormat anymore. They can beat Rutgers, Illinois, Indiana State, Western Kentucky, etc. They haven't actually played for anything. Their highest finish in the Big Ten, pre-division era was t-4th, and since 2011 it's been 4th in their division.

Given that Moody has been the one handling kickoffs and sending the majority of those out of the endzone he should have the leg to kick longer field goals. Nordin is a total mess right now so hopefully Moody can keep it going.

I told everyone that Nordin's career was over during the MSU game. He has the yips. He can't even kick the ball straight in warm ups. Did you see that helicopter spin he had during warm ups? He could barely get the ball over the crossbar. If the ball isn't spinning sideways off his foot, it looks like a knuckleball.

No, it wasn't.

Cam Jones let the ball carrier go right by him, ignored him. He was obviously head-hunting. He picked Edwards out as his target, ran directly at him, ignoring the ball carrier, and launched himself head first at Edward's face.

I stand corrected. I was watching the game at a bar and wasn't paying too much attention to the location of the players. I just went and watched it again. The ball carrier was close in proximity to Edwards...which actually makes it worse. The IU player could have made an effort to tackle the ball carrier or at least the blocker that was closest to the ball carrier, but he didn't.

Big time cheap shot.

This is too bad. The kid has the leg. Hope he can get his head straight.
