The Official Minnesota vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

No one should feel bad. Michigan deserves some good luck after the msu debacle

There was no luck involved in this win. The luck was all on Minn's side. The D finally stepped up at the end and stuffed the QB sneak to win the game. That was not luck, that was football.

Now that it's all over: Thank goodness we won.
Did the Minnesota defensive player target Jake Rudock, that is, when Rudock got injured? If so, that's kind of a serious lapse in judgment by the referees.

Off topic but

Miami was down 27-24 with 10 seconds left, Duke kicking off.

Miami had 8 laterals and scored a TD. Don't worry you'll see a hihlight. Just no band

I asked about that on anOther board and even mich fans said it was nit targeting

2 controversial plays involving Michigan QBs getting hit by Minnesota players in back-to-back years.

I honestly don't get why the guy who hit Rudock wasn't punished at all (was he? Don't remember) even though Rudock's helmet got ripped off when he was hit in the head and he didn't get up right away. Don't know if it should've been targeting, but the no-call still didn't feel quite right somehow.

I think a case could be made that he targeted Jake's head. If you watch the replay Jake is already down into his slide. For the D player to hit him in the head he had to anticipate the trajectory and speed of the slide. Since there was in fact helmet to helmet contact, the D player intentionally targeted his head. I think this was a clearer case of targeting than what we saw in the previous game.

eh... he was clearly trying to slide, but a step late maybe. or at least it looked like he was from the angle we got on tv.

the Minnesota players were already moving toward him, but both were vicious hits. I guess it's just our luck Bolden get tossed for getting pushed on Cook, in slow motion, with no chance of injuring him, and our QB nearly gets his head twisted off at the neck, and it's a clean hit.

I never had any doubt.

I call BS lol. Worst they have looked all year. Rudock was bad, oline wasn't opening holes, and the def...holy cow, it was back to the bend but don't break mentality from the last few years. And giving up that 3rd and 17 on that last drive? Are you kidding me?

This is the type of game that we would have lost last year. I'd bet that if Hoke was still the coach, Minnesota would have rattled off two or three unanswered touchdowns to end the game.

Not the greatest game, but we were able to win a close road game (at night) against a "rival". I'll take it.

And Peppers is amazing. He's had his share of scary plays, but he plays 100% all the time and is seemingly everywhere on the field.

Also, is it just me or do more lucky pass plays happen against our defense this year than ever? It's insane.

Was Brady Hoke coaching? Cuz, I just got done watching this shitfest and could have sworn Harbaugh and Durkin were outcoached by some fat guy with glasses.

we dropped what should've been 3-4 picks, including Peppers' likely pick six that would've put us up 28-23. any of those breaks goes our way, and it's a different ball game.

Can we put into perspective that we had 2 weeks to prepare for the 2nd shittiest offense(Purdue #1 shittiest) in the Big Ten? I am thoroughly disgusted that this defense was unprepared. Oh and the defenders dropping interceptions has been happening alllllll season long. Its nothing new, but.....the blown coverages are becoming a problem.

A tad harsh.. At least 2 picks were missed.. Yes were were freaking pretty bad on defense until that last stop.

1. Long td pass by Minnesota was a terrible under thrown throw ball to the wrong shoulder and good coverage. The a bad attempt at a tackle.
2. Defender goes up for the INT right in his hands. Opps tipped to Gopher player.
3. Peppers ball right in his hands for a pick six.. dropped..

Yeah we played horrible on defense most of the night. but Smith went out.. Rudock went out and we had to score a TD from a QB who had yet to complete a pass. yeah it was bad.. We go pretty darn lucky that fat you you mentioned was as bad as Hoke at clock management..

Purdue did score 21 unanswered on MSU and 45 today on Nebraska. I mean there were a ton of intangibles your kinda leaving out.. yeah we sucked.. but take the gift..

Minnesota was jacked up.. trying to keep the jug. Playing for Coach Kill.. a QB who was playing out of his mind. Yeah we blow a ton of coverages and tackles which concern me more but there were plenty of good coverages with amazing throws and catches also.

I do hate byes.. Team did seem lethargic to me..

Three key guys were hurt tonight also..
