1 Atlanta win or 1 New York win or 1 Detroit loss eliminates Detroit from the playoffs

Oddly enough, Detroit holds the head-to-head tiebreak over the Knicks and could split their head-to-head with Atlanta if they win next week.

Pistons screw themselves with a win. Cleveland loses and the Pistons knock themselves out of #3 and are within one win or Boston loss of knocking themselves out of 4.

What does this mean..?

Remaining schedules for teams within (reasonable) reach of the Pistons

9. Cleveland
4/9 - vs Detroit
4/11 - @ Milwaukee
4/12 - vs Boston
4/16 - vs Brooklyn
Remaining SoS: .349

8. Detroit
4/8 - @ Atlanta
4/9 - @ Cleveland
4/11 - @ Chicago
4/13 - vs Toronto
4/16 - @ Oklahoma City
Remaining SoS: .547

7. Sacramento
4/8 - vs Oklahoma City
4/9 - @ Portland
4/12 - @ LA Clippers
4/13 - vs Minnesota
4/16 - vs Phoenix
Remaining SoS: .634

6. LA Lakers
4/8 - vs Houston
4/11 - vs Golden State
4/13 - vs Memphis
4/14 - @ Utah
4/16 - @ San Antonio
Remaining SoS: .594

Cleveland has by far the easiest remaining schedule, which is good for the Pistons. However both the Kings and Lakers have a tougher schedule, hopefully some of these top tier teams won't be in rest mode for the playoffs.

Kyle Korver did his best Josh Smith impersonation tonight to ensure a Hawks loss.

8. Detroit
7. Sacramento +2gms (3)
6. LA Lakers +4gms (1)

Pistons screw themselves again with a win as they can no longer obtain #4 or #5. Now just one win or Lakers loss away from missing out on #6. With 4 games left, the Pistons are nearly locked into that 8 spot...but they MUST lose to Cleveland tonight.

Maybe they get lucky with the lotto ball..though I'd be shocked if LA doesn't get the top pick.

It's the Pistons. One of the few teams with a better record will get a lucky ping pong ball and move up into the top 3 pushing the Pistons to 9 and they will lose the pick!

Hopefully the Knicks find a way into that 8 seed.

I have a feeling NY would be one of those unlikely teams to win a lottery pick, miraculously of course.
