If Hoke takes the timeout, Beamer could have been more likely to go for it. If someone jumps offsides or some other penalty (running into the kicker, etc), they get a first down with time to get a TD.

When the other coach makes a decision that pretty much worst case scenario takes you to OT, you go to OT. Calling TO there is a million times worse than what Bielema did in East Lansing.
