Any other bowl game not playoff-related should be proscribed from this day on.

Get StartedBy proscribed, you mean... not played? Or entirely voluntary for the players?Any other bowl game not playoff-related should be proscribed from this day on.
I mean not played. Bowl games used to be the culmination of a successful season. Now, 50% of the FBS teams play in one. Just let them wither on the vine.By proscribed, you mean... not played? Or entirely voluntary for the players?
I'm okay with either. I think the coaches should have to work their asses off for it, though. Give underclassmen, and any departing seniors a shot at some PT and glory, and let everyone looking to go pro focus on earning their dime.
I don’t know. I think it’s a vanity thing for corporate sponsors, and I guess enough people are still watching on television that it remains cost effective.I mean not played. That OSU loss to Michigan is the permanent stain on the Buckeye ethos. And the Buckeyes will always have to credit the loss to Michigan to their post-season success. But Michigan seems to be the only team in the country who can stop the Buckeye offense. And M capped the season with a first, as far as I know: The only team to beat the same opponent In bowl games in the same calendar year. They have already won two bowl games in the same year — in 1981 — Washington on Jan 1 (Bo’s first Rose Bowl win) and UCLA on December 31 in the Bluebonnet Bowl.I don’t know. “Do you really need to continue to sponsor the who gives a crap bowl?”
“Well, probably not. I also probably don’t need all my yachts and cars and residences. I guess I just get emotionally attached and nostalgic, I guess.”
Meanwhile, our rivals the Buckeyes are beating the crap out of the number one ranked Oregon in a bowl game that certainly is unlikely to ever be prescribed.
In a way, my thoughts are, good on them. Our Wolverines beat the Buckeyes in the only game they’ll play all season that really matters.
So who cares what matters to wrap it all up?
