Packers rumored to be franchising Flynn for a sign and trade.

I hope no one trades for him, That would be funny to have to 10+ million QBs on a roster.

Sweeeeet. Hope they do. It should have had happened already. Before throwing 6tds.

Stanton beats Gb, Flynn beats Det. Maybe the key to winning this game is playing your back up qb

Be interesting to have your backup QB making more than your Top 2 in the league starting QB.

Lol. If anyone is stupid enough to do a Cassel or Kolb I laugh at them. Lol.

Somebody will trade for him...With the limited game time that Flynn has played he has done pretty well. I know there is not enough tape to be certain on him but he was dropping those passes and bombs on the money against Detroit. He may not flop like Kolb. You never know though whenever a QB changes systems. GB should have no problem getting something for him.

This right here...doesn't seem to be the wisest front office move to make. If you can't move the guy, you're fucked.

Kolb looked good, Cassell looked goood and now Flynn. The same long term result will happen. GB will get its picks, Flynn will get his money and the new team will be drafting a QB two years later.

I thought you could remove the franchise tag at any time?

That's just it Mitch...I don't get it. Nothing against Flynn, but it seems like the same song and dance with the two others you mentioned. You take a very small sample size and crown the guy a king. What's wrong with these people? Scott Mitchell duped us in relief of Marino too, although we just overpaid him as a free agent...

And its not just those 3. When do we see a QB who plays little, go to a new team and becomes good?

Cassell did not really look all that good to me...I knew he was a system guy in NE. So many of his passes were overthrown or underthrown. Kolb looked a little better than Cassell but Kolb is not a long ball guy unless his WR is wide open which DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin helped him out with that. I know there is not a lot of tape with Flynn and I wish we had more to judge. The little bit of I have seen with this kid the past couple of years he has looked pretty good. 480 yards and 6 touchdowns is nothing to scoff at. Also, there were some deep ball passes that were just thrown on a dime. I think he is definitely worth a look for a team. You never know what you are going to get with a rookie QB so why not take a chance on somebody who has looked good in the NFL.

You talk about Cassell and the talent like GB hasn't got talent the past 2 years. I don't want it to happen because GB gets draft picks. But he'll fail like the others. Party because a shitty team will trade for him.

I'm not saying Flynn is bad and that a team shouldn't acquire him and give him a shot, but I wouldn't overpay for the guy, which his next team inevitably will...

Sure you can unfranchise a guy, but I don't think there's much you can do after he signs that one year tender. What is it for a QB? $16 million?

Damn what a run of luck by green bay. Rodgers gets to sit behind Favre (who had the qb position locked up since the paleolithic era) long enough to come out torching everyone, then have a backup to torch guys for ONE FUCKING GAME and will likely fleece a team for said guy. Must be nice being a packer fan right about now; though their luck is due to change soon.

Maybe we should play Stanton against a team next year that has poor pass coverage. 400 yards later, we get draft picks.

:)

I am not a fan of GB getting anything else for him either as they are already young and extremely talented obviously. I am also not saying that Flynn is the best thing since sliced bread as I have stated that there is not a whole lot of tape. Just saying that he has looked good in the limited tape that we can see and I do not consider him an automatic flop for another team. I do not think he will be too bad though personally.
