Tigers 2024-2025 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender, Awards

I have never heard of RE24
RE24 = RE End State – RE Beginning State + Runs Scored. (RE24 = RE Beginning State – RE End State for a pitcher)
Basically, hits with runners on is better than a hit with bases empty. Seems obviously and there's more to it.. Anything over 0 is above average compared to his Major League peers.

Days of Roar: A Free Press Sports Detroit Tigers. 70 minutes.
With Evan still away on his honeymoon, Mark once again enlists the help of Tigers radio analyst and friend of the pod Bobby Scales to co-host the show. Mark and Bobby break down the nearly unprecedented season for the 2024 Tigers and begin looking at how the team’s playoff run could impact the 2025 season. With greater expectations now formed for the young ball club, how might Scott Harris and A.J. Hinch bolster this seemingly new era of Tigers baseball? The guys attempt to parse the tea leaves for answers from the Tigers’ season ending press conference. After Bobby exits the show, we find that you can take the baseball beat writer out of Detroit but you can’t take the baseball beat out of the writer as Evan joins AGAIN while still on his honeymoon with additional analysis from the press conference.

Earlier in the week, Scott Harris gave his end-of-year press conference. He addressed the question about the team’s needs going forward.
Harris mentioned that the Tigers need at least 1 right-handed bat. And of course, there is the starting rotation that needs to be filled out. Pitching chaos will only get you so far.
So how much will this roster be changing?

Harris mentioned that the young talent coming up will continue to be a priority.
Today, we’re going to focus on the positional players. There are a total of 8 positions to review along with an assortment of bench/utility players.

Tomorrow, we will address pitching so please don’t consider that part of the roster today.
Considering the players who occupy catching, the infield, outfield and utility, how many new players do you believe will be brought in? They can include prospects in AAA as well as waiver wire, trades and free agent signings.

How many new positional players do you believe the Tigers will add for the 2025 season?

1. Only 1-2.

2. They need 3-4 new players.

3. They need 5-6 new players.

Because it's a trash metric. Suggesting that Riley was 25% better hitter than Carp and Colt was better than Meadows and Vierling is laughable.
Baseball has always had lots of stats & metrics but they have so many. And most have flaws. I've seen players with a positive offensive war but a OPS+ below a 100.

They just don't have a single metric that says it all
