I have felt this way for weeks. I will be very disappointed if Bregman ends up signing with the Tigers

Same. Unless it's a last minute 1 year deal.

One thing hopefully to come from this is after how bad boras messed up last year and now fumbling bregman's deal, hopefully players start moving away from the douchebag

I won't mind a 2 year deal with a Club option for the third year. He will be an average hitter with his numbers in decline the last couple of years. At least he will be a good defensive third baseman.
There are players coming up through the minors who will be able to step in the next two years.

I wouldnt mind 2 or 3 years. I just think if he doesn't get his 6-7 years, he'll just take a high 1 year deal and retry next year.

WEDNESDAY WANDERINGS.

Alex Cobb has hip issues got a PRP injection .. out 4 weeks.. not.. a good omen for a 37 year old who made 3 starts in 2023..

A.J. Hinch on Alex Cobb: “His last bullpen was the first week of February, and he had some issues. We decided the best course of action was to get him checked out and get the injection. That injection is trending to set him back about a month, and if it’s sooner than that, great. If it’s not, we’ll deal with it. But obviously, it opens up more competition in the rotation.”
15 million for a 37 year old, will he pitch more than 20 innings? oy veysmeer.

Source confirms Alex Bregman to the Red Sox. Three years/$120 mil with two opt outs.

Edit:

[Petzold] The #Tigers offered Alex Bregman a six-year contract worth just more than $170 million (with some deferred money), but Bregman picked the Red Sox on a three-year, $120 million contract with opt-outs after each season.

Thank goodness he didn't sign that.

Way to go Tork to improve your game.. NOT.

Glad he didn’t sign the contract we offered. Hopefully we can knock his ass out of the playoffs again like last season as he whiffs on a Skubal fastball !
